This week has to be a win/win for you Freo fans.

If you win, you have bragging rights over the Weagles.

If you lose, you take away their first-round P.P.

:)

pretty much.

if we win, then we dont want to win against melbourne later in the year.

What a sad day for WA footy when so many footy fans (and I'm one of them) don't really care about the result of a Western Derby.

The sooner the AFL get rid of the PP the better.

As for Eagles forwards, Hansen has been in pretty good touch. I know he's unlikely to put too much fear into Freo's hearts, but he's done well from limtied opportunities and will require a decent opponent. Kennedy and Brown have both been going reasonably well also, so I see this as one area we might be able to stretch you guys a bit.

No Hansen doesnt worry us. Didnt he play on Thurstans on the weekend??? That explains his decent game.

Brown has been ok, but his disposal has been pretty iffy over the last 2 weeks. If Pav plays will he go back down back?

Kennedy is the dangerman

I actually think we're weaker than the Eagles all over the ground except the midfield (if Pav and Sandilands come back).

I'd prefer to see Pavlich play and play up forward. I am sick of seeing the crappy structure we've gone with the past 6 months, with Pav in the middle and a non-existent forwardline.

It's not like the Eagles have a lot of strength through the middle at the moment, they are either hacks or young blokes, so putting Pav through there won't really teach us much other than Pav is better than hacks and young blokes. So I think this is a good chance to put someone like Suban through there. He won a lot of contested ball on Saturday night, and looks to be a good clearance player (with his long kicking). It is not like the Eagles are physically imposing, or that the derby will be brutal, in fact I think it will be the tamest derby hitout ever.

Yep, I could not care less about winning this one, Sh1t system that stops you wanting your team to win

Has displayed all the signs of A.P this season. (Absentis Penis)

The priority pick situation is a complete disgrace. I would like to win the derby, but our team stands to gain more if we don't.

Should we just try and belt you guys all over the park for the first 3 1/2 quarters, then send all our interchange players on to get a head count and send our score back to zero?

Good idea, but perhaps the Freo captain won't call the count so we lose the PP, then send their players on as well and we play 22 on 22, plus and emergencies, and maybe even multiball?

Would at least send a message to the AFL, as well as being hilarious.

wooohooo - Tazz, Pav and Sandi likely ins....no schammer though. Will VB get upgraded??

Dynamic duo likely for derby

FREMANTLE captain Mathew Pavlich is confident he will be available for Saturday's western derby, and he has declared ruckman Aaron Sandilands a certain starter.

Pavlich, who has missed Fremantle's last three matches with a calf injury, will need to get through a closed training session on Wednesday, but he said he was "really confident" he would be passed fit to take on cross-town rival West Coast.

"I trained really well over the weekend and then again yesterday morning," he said from Fremantle Oval on Tuesday. "I'm running at 100 per cent.

"If it's too much of a risk and I'm going to be a liability then I won't play, but I'm certainly positive that's not going to be the case and once I get through tomorrow afternoon's session we'll definitely know that.

"[Sandilands] trained really well again yesterday. I would say he's certain to play."

Pavlich said teammates Byron Schammer (calf) and Des Headland (hamstring) were both unlikely to play, while Chris Tarrant had bounced back well after jarring his knee against the Brisbane Lions on Saturday night.

"He's pretty bullish with his results, he came back with a pretty good scan result and he's been moving pretty well, so we're hoping he'll play," Pavlich said.for fremantlefc.com.

I thought the possibility of that happening was unlikely due to the new interchange rule? Instead now it is a free kick.

Would forget about Roger this year, if we rush him back there is a 100% chance he'll tear his hammy.

Plus he would have proper match fitness for another 3-4 games and by then the season is over.

With the way our injury list has been going this year, that could be season over for Foster.

In: Sandilands, Pavlich, Pratt

Out: Foster, Campbell, Peake

I doubt Pratt will come in, but I'd like to give him another chance. Chances are it would probably be Ruffles and not Peake who gets dropped though. I doubt we'll be seeing Walters this week now.

dammit dont bring any good players back.
If we dont stuff the eagles up by us losing this week they get there priority pick they been aiming for since about round 12 last year.

Cmon freo if you really hate the eagles you will let them win this 1 derby so they can brag for a week or 2 then at end of season it will really hit home what happened and they will be crying all summer.

If we dont let them win this game there PP is already signed sealed an delivered.

That's exactly how I'm thinking at the moment, Sman, but I doubt the club/board will be thinking the same.

But I guess we'll know for sure on selection night.

Out: Foster (inj) Tarrant (inj.) Halseby (virus) Hill (rest) Suban (rest)
In: Gilmore, Murphy, Head, Drum, Browne (send-off match)

Would anyone notice? :D

There is an article on thewest website which says that Harvey has hinted that he will consider playing another debutant on the weekend.

I'm assuming this would be van Berlo?

article also says Hase might struggle to get up

how many games had VB played since returning from injury? Would Chris Hall be a chance?

Not certain, but I think van Berlo has only played 2 league games since returning from injury. Chris Hall, I think has missed the past couple with injury.

I can't imagine that either is seriously deserving of a debut yet, but there isn't anybody else. Except Shepheard, and there is no way he would be ready.
