AFL: Haze in doubt for derby clash

Fremantle midfielder PAUL HASLEBY is in doubt for Saturday's AFL
western derby showdown with West Coast.
Dockers coach MARK HARVEY says HASLEBY is no certainty to line
up against the Eagles after pulling up sore from last week's
demanding loss to Brisbane.
HARVEY could introduce yet another debutant if HASLEBY is ruled
out.
Defender CHRIS TARRANT is considered only a "60-40" chance for
the game after injuring his knee against the Lions.

I don't want to lose to that scum west coast, EVER. I hope we smash the mothu luvin daylights outa them. It's our grand final after all (their piss poor excuse for losing:rolleyes:)

Is there anyone left?

With both players in doubt, Harvey said he was considering blooding an 11th debutant.

There are only six players on Fremantle's entire list yet to debut, with rookie-listed pair Hamish Shepheard and Jay van Berlo the only two that can be considered.

Ben Bucovaz, Chris Hall and Casey Sibosado are all ruled out for at least two weeks with groin injuries, while Brent Connelly is having a hip injury reassessed.

Stress fractures in his shins have derailed van Berlo's first season with the club, but he has played for West Perth's league side the past two weeks after a fortnight with the Falcons reserves.

He collected 21 possessions in an impressive display against Peel Thunder at the weekend.

Shepheard has been used in the ruck and as a forward for East Perth. He had 14 possessions, 12 hit-outs and two goals against Swan Districts.

Just the two available players who have yet to debut, and I doubt Shepheard is ready for AFL football. Who knows what could happen if Tarrant is ruled out though.

It's a shame about Hall, Buco and Sibo all being out injured. And surely Pratt should get a chance before van Berlo.

I'm sure 2-4 of Pav-Sandi-Tarrant-Haze will play, but imagine if WC could conjure a defeat while we were missing the following players:

Pavlich, Sandilands, Hayden, Tarrant, Palmer, Hasleby, Johnson, Headland, Crowley, Mayne, Schammer

Bringing in another debutant would make us the sole record holder of 'most debutants in a single season'. It'd be an achievement, at least.

VB has been promising in the WAFL. I would suggest they might give him a chance to stake his claim for a place on the main list next year. 'For the same reason I'd play Pratt in stead of Taz if there's any doubt on Taz' fitness.

Tarrant has been brilliant this year, but maybe it'll benefit McPharlin (one of my biggest dissapointments this year) as well if he can be the main man in defense for a game to get his mojo back.

Play Pav up forward to see if the midfield will have any chance of holding on its own next year, and to get some valuable chemistry happening between our crumbers (Frodo & Chips & maybe Son son if he plays) and the big man. In my opinion, our way forward for next year is Pav up forward and Taz and McPharlin down back. There's really no reason why that wouldn't work in my opinion. Get lucky with injuries and some key players back (Palmer!) and suddenly we're really not that bad. Sixth to tenth next year, I hope.

Son Son picked the wrong week to flirt with off field controversy, reckon he would have been a certain starter otherwise.

Tarrant & Hasleby will be named - but won't play...Harvs has said TAZ is 50-50 at best & didn't sound good for Hase

Teams this arvo

OUT:
Foster
Peake
Mundy

IN:
Sandilands
Pavlich
Van Berlo

Emergencies: Mundy, Peake, Drum

Team come Saturday arvo 90mins prior to game will be Hase & taz out & Mundy & either Peake or Drum back in.

So Clarke, Ruffles, Ballantyne, Pearce, Broughton, Suban, Hill, Van Berlo & DeBoer will all be playing - THATS 9 1st YEAR PLAYERS ALL PLAYING IN THE 1 TEAM IN A DERBY

+ Campbell who has played under 10 games

..and we'll be without Schammer, Headland, Mayne, Hayden, palmer, Crowley, Johnson, Hasleby, Tarrant

& we're still favourites at $1.68 - go figure

Considering the wet forecast, I would be surprised if Bradley/Clarke/Campbell all keep their spots if pav and sandi come back in. A bit too top heavy Imo and I think either Clarke or Campbell may be dropped.

Would be great to see jay v.b get a game and also a statement made to Mundy and Peake. The statement part probably wont happen however. Also would be good to see Walters given a chance considering the conditions and his recent form (Apparently did nothing wrong the other night). 10 first year players would be sick.

dammit dont bring any good players back.
If we dont stuff the eagles up by us losing this week they get there priority pick they been aiming for since about round 12 last year.

Cmon freo if you really hate the eagles you will let them win this 1 derby so they can brag for a week or 2 then at end of season it will really hit home what happened and they will be crying all summer.

If we dont let them win this game there PP is already signed sealed an delivered.
Don't worry, we'll lose to them in round 22. :)

Weather is getting better for Saturday

Looking forward to seeing JVB.

I think Campbell will get the arse. He was woeful last week.

4 who?

there is noone else left bar Walters - & I'd suggest he's not up for selection due to incident from weekend. Murphy & Gilmore have obviously had lines thru there names for rest of year
