needs more time in vfl i just dont want him to get destroyed like rest of our early picks looks like he will be good player but just hasnt picked the pace up yet of AFL
we picked him up cause he is a good kick but if he is for ever getting caught or rushing then what good is that going to be for him in the long run confidence will be shot like it was in first game

The kid comes in and picks up 13 touches (his best effort yet) and you want to put him back to the reserves again and replace him with Dom Barry?

We need to stop putting guys in for a week and then back for 3! Let him string a number of games together in the ones and the results will come!

You are being pretty harsh on a kid in his 5th game who was far from our worst today!

Mckenzie's skills need a lot of work. Can do that at Casey. Dunn is just dumb. Aside from his big kicks and niggly nature, there isn't much he offers. Would rather someone who can use the ball well most of the time come in.
If Dawes doesn't make it I'd put Sellar into defence and swith Pedo forward.
Tapscott has been ordinary and could easily be dropped. Maybe if we elevate Couch he'll make way.
Fitzy hasn't done much in his 2 games so far, but they were against very strong sides when we were getting flogged. 1 more game to try and really show something, then potentially back to Casey.

Surely if Dawes is out we bring in Gawn to play forward and leave Pedersen back. Better still, get rid of Pedersen and bring in both. Sellar is a meat and potato type defender. Put him on man, man will kick 1-4 goals depending on how accurate the delivery is.

We have nothing on the list, thats the whole problem.

Im not sure what you expect a kid in his 5th game to achieve? just because he was pick 4 doesn't mean he is going to step straight in a get 25 touches, kick 2 goals and change the game on his own. We barely have any senior players who can manage that! I will agree his first few were far from impressive, but in the few opportunities he has had since then I would say he has shown alot more. How are these guys supposed to get a feel for AFL football if we don't play them. Now is a great time to play him as we have nothing to loose, the season is done we may as well get him in and ready so next year he is raring to go from round 1.

There are barely 5 blokes that earn their spot each week, and I would say Toumpas deserves to be there over the likes of Rodan, Pedersen, Sellar, Tapscott etc.

We don't have the luxury or depth that those teams have, you cant just bring a guy in because he plays a few good games in the VFL then expect him to dominate at AFL level straight away. that's the reason we have so many changes each week!

It looks as though Neeld rates Toumpas pretty highly according to this statement.

If kids under 20 games are making mistakes, keep playing them. As Neeld said in his post-match presser, its the experienced blokes who deserve to be dropped when they burn us with horrible mistakes.

Woah, there were things done wrong at the club - but this current situation is completely of Neelds making.

This was his solution to the problems, to rebuild a rebuild.

No one else told him that was the way to go.

Now, I think it's an okay way to go but still.

Dunn sprung to mind as soon as Neeld said that, Dunn's role is to kick out of defence, so many turnovers all season. Would have Frawley in for him but if he's not up for the game then I don't know.

very harsh on evans imo, if he was in the pies team today he would of got 20 touchs,he got brunt alot by bad passes today,plus his miles ahead of bail,

Hope he does improve because I like him as a footballer. Just needs more polish.

Jordie is never going to be any more polished. He's in his 5th season after being passed over in the 2008 Draft and the next year being Rookied by MFC and getting a spot on the Senior List via Pick 81. He'll be 24 later this month and we have seen his best.
He is what he is and that is very ordinary. We have no right to expect more.
