No....trade 1 of them and still stand by that. It's easy to critisise and just stick with the status quo. Wonder how WC would perform without McGovern but with a midfielder instead. A lot better I'd suggest

Why would we want a midfielder playing at full back though?
If there's any issue at all with Jamo, which there seemed to be last week, I can't see why'd they play him. Like to see them let Rotham have a crack at the role he's been doing in the WAFL to see if there's anything worth persisting with.
Culley surely can't be dropped and neither XON. Leaves one spot for West, Clark, SPS and Witho.
Just a bit of tongue in cheek in my post. Obviously cannot know for sure. But a lot of coincidences.
I haven't considered team balance but for me West had earned his spot before he was injured. Clark a bit unlucky but I'd have no problem with SPS and Witho missing.
But if say the MC wants to keep XON and have Witho as an extra defender leaving the choice between West and Culley....sheesh. I'm gonna have to go with Culley but feelsbadman.
If West comes in it will be at Foley's expense, rightly or wrongly. West was getting very little look in as a midfielder, predominately playing off a HFF. He's usually at the 50m arc for centre bounces.

I just checked the stats and you are right, but only for West's last game. He had 0 CBAs. But it seems to be an outlier because its the only 0 for him all year and just the week before he had 47% of CBAs. About the same as Culley last week (45%). Shuey/Redden/Kelly played in all of these games.
The decrease may have been personnel related as I see Trew played in West's last game and had 46% CBAs. MC obviously wanted to have a good look at him and it came at West's expense. Maybe West also had a niggle or was given a job. Admittedly, I missed most of the Richmond game.
I guess what I'm saying is I don't think the 1 game is enough to say that they are going to give him very little midfield time. I really don't see him battling with Foley (who hasn't attended a CBA this year). It's probably XON/Culley/West/Clark/Trew all battling for 2-3 spots.

Well with no Ryder, and Marshall also in doubt due to illness we can potentially get away with an undersized second ruck.
