Pissweak. Just using Jetta as the scapegoat.

Jetta definitely deserves to be dropped, but others get a free pass while it looks like he's swung the axe.

Looking forward to another 2 goals, 26 touches from Lecca, Yeo, Shuey et al.

He cant go and drop 5-6 players when we are still aiming for a flag. Jetta was our big recruit so the fact we dropped him was a massive statement.

It was a pissweak statement. All it said was the MC is going to be harder on new players than those who are well established, which the MC has a track record of doing (Wellingham, Bennell, Hill, etc.)

Also didn't suggest 5 or 6 omissions, but I totally disagree that we have to limit our Outs because we're 'still aiming for a flag'. If anything, swinging the axe would be good performance management, particularly early in the season.

What exactly have Cole and Barrass been doing to not earn a call up, especially after some of the crap we've been serving up every second week.....

Jetta was the sacrificial lamb

Who comes in?

Butler - JEtta Confirmed.

Barras - EMac

Cole - LeCras?

LeCras or Cripps. Now that would be a statement.

Emac or Schofield - One needs to build confidence in the 2s, the other has been way out of form.

I mean, I can see the reasoning for trying to keep the team stable and to allow them to FTB their way into form, but to suggest that this week's changes are a 'massive statement' is absolute trash, and everyone knows it.

It's the absolute bare minimum that could have been made. Premiership contenders with strong cultures don't consistently make the bare minimum changes after successive failures.

They've been playing in defence where there's been no real underperformers (except maybe EMac who they're obviously trying to play into form after his layoff)

Schofield has been rather mediocre all year.

True, i guess it's just frustrating with some of our better young talent being left out despite doing little wrong in the twos. I guess they will get their opportunity in good time.

Disagree. He's been taking the number 1 forward most of the year and none of them have got hold of him yet, even Buddy and Hawkins when their teams were dominating.

Think he's being unfairly maligned.

I agree.

Plus i think our backline has held up well considering how poorly our midfield have been doing. As much as we would love to see Barrass, Cole & Nelson in the squad they are not going to fix our problems. Unless we have some gun mids and HHF's in the WAFL dominating we have no one else to bring in.

Just on the changes - I was at a session with Simpson last night and he basically said he had three tenets he stood for as a coach.

Honesty, Loyalty and Respect

He stated he is backing/remaining loyal our core group to back up their endeavours last year and discover consistency both home and away.

It's why we aren't seeing wholesale changes.

He also made an interesting point - no top 8 team had beaten another top 8 team interstate this year - albeit he said Adelaide had still been able to demonstrate their brand of footy, something we haven't.

Who do you think comes in? Coles the only one that maybe deserves it. There is no way a team gunning for a premiership introduces new players to "send a message" unless they have ready made players to step in. There is every chance we lose to St Kilda if we do that. In a competition this tight, every 4 points matters.

With key forward in Riewoldt and Bruce, I wouldn't be playing Barrass ahead of Emac for instance.

And both Wellingham and Hill are largely good players.

So, maaaaybe this is the right move.

LeCras for instance, is a known quantity. He may be out of form, but we know what he can add based on experience. Thus it makes sense to give him longer.
