Sanders or Bramble sub? Can't see Laith or Lachie being sub with there speed critical to our forward pressure.Busslinger will be in the 22 this week.

I don't believe a call has been made yet.Sanders or Bramble sub? Can't see Laith or Lachie being sub with there speed critical to our forward pressure.
Be an interesting call for Bevo.
Only reason I mentioned Sanders was that he's played the 8 straight and might be a way of giving him a semi rest.
Was more after your thoughtsI don't believe a call has been made yet.
In my view, I always prefer it to be a small, preferably with pace as I feel they make the most impact coming in late so I'd say Bramble or VDMWas more after your thoughts![]()
Sanders as the sub does make sense. Treloar is back and appears to be playing a fair bit of half forward.
He’s done nothing wrong but he’s just been ‘okay’ in recent weeks. There’s a hell of a lot of competition in his role.

I like his endurance so prefer he starts.Davidson?
Sanders as sub over VDM makes no sense whatsoever. Sanders hits the scoreboard every week.Sanders as the sub does make sense. Treloar is back and appears to be playing a fair bit of half forward.

They do not play the same role.Sanders as sub over VDM makes no sense whatsoever. Sanders hits the scoreboard every week.
It's easy to move magnets. As you say, if Treloar is sliding into Sander's role, then slide him into VDMs.They do not play the same role.
I thought we were past this idea where we would just chuck better players into positions purely because they are better raw footballers. It's easy to move magnets. As you say, if Treloar is sliding into Sander's role, then slide him into VDMs.
There's nothing VDM does that cannot be done by Sanders. Not true the other way around.

But your original point was that Treloar had been chucked into Sanders role as he's a better player. If this is right, then this has happened because Treloar has been moved out of his usual midfield role by a better player (whoever that may be, Richards, Freijah, Kennedy..)I thought we were past this idea where we would just chuck better players into positions purely because they are better raw footballers.
The match committee clearly values the role that Vandermeer plays in the forward line.
He has not started as the sub in a single game in the previous 5 years. There is not one thing to suggest it’s going to start now.
Sure. Let's say VDM is 20% better than anyone else at sprinting and closing space. Not necessarily true.
VDM laid down the second highest amount of sprints and second highest amount of repeat sprints on the weekend. Also has the second highest number of repeat sprints in a game this year. Clearly that's what he is in the team for.
Treloar and Sanders aren't in the team for that. I wouldn't want to try putting Treloar in a role like that given his soft tissue record.
Sanders/Treloar/Bramble/VDM/NcNeil
All have pros and cons to being made sub atm. Interesting decision for MC whichever way they go.
I think what frustrates us all is that he fumbles or drops a mark on occasion that directly results in a TO goal. I can recall 3-4 times this year (including on Saturday) where this happened. His ability to get a yard off his opponent is unquestionable tho.Sure. Let's say VDM is 20% better than anyone else at sprinting and closing space.
We lose any advantage we get in that area with his shortcomings which are larger than the 20% provided IMO.
