32yo with history of calf injuries who’s had setback after setback since September last year. Having concerns for his long term playing future is not unreasonable.

Once they’re chronic it can be very difficult to make it back. Jack Martin and Harley Bennell are good examples of this in recent years.

Treloar himself even said he wasn't sure if this might be it after his 3rd one and wondering if his body would let him get back to full fitness so it's not completely unreasonable.
Ok, if he’s saying it himself then speculation is warranted. Apologies, I missed that.

Does seem a bit of an AFL theme though. I recall Libba being written off about 5 years ago by many people. There’s a long way to go in the season. Let’s see what happens.

Whatever happens, I’d at least want to give him next year. JJ seems to be doing okay and he’s probably had it worse.

Problem that is 3 games in a row round 24 last year pulled sore and the first final and now this game he also had setback earlier in the season. It seems his calf just cannot cope with the load required for AFL. Not sure where you go from here

On his podcast, Treloar said he had pulled up sore.

He said, 'Gee wees Louise' when referring to how sore he was. He stated if he feels like this after every match, he won't play many more matches.
No it’s quite common to feel like that following the first game after a long break. I remember hardly being able to get out of bed 2 days after my first game as a wicketkeeper each year. Then next week recovery is almost completely back to normal.

However it looks like this is an unrelated incident. At least I’m hoping that’s what it is.

We thought Libba was going to have to medically retire last year and now he’s in almost career best form.

I understand it’s more muscle for Treloar but I still think he’s far from finished.

Treloar proved last week that he still has it. Hopefully his body lets him string more games together.

We look a lot more dangerous when he is in the side.

I’m in Darwin for the game. Last night at game time it was 26 degrees and stifling. Run is going to be important, it’s dry during the day but seems to get humid at night. Lots of Dogs fans from Willy and Altona up here

Any reason as to why there are fans from Willi and Altona in particular?

My family go to Darwin for the footy every year and they're from that area. Fair chance you may have run into them.

Would be an absolute bonus if we get to the bye 8/3 with only 2 interstate game left for year even 2 wins at 7/4 gives us a good chance of top 4.

Suns 50/50
Bombers heavy favourites
Cats outsiders down there although after a big drought we won our last 2. Plus the BS motivation.

Touch wood barring injuries there will a lot to consider for Bevo going into the bombers, if win this one the decision is bit easier.

The cats game will a 5 day break after the bombers. i am thinking Bevo will rest Libba and JJ and Bont maybe an early sub if can get well on top.
