Good to see Buss up there! Even though he had low time on ground limiting his sample size, second for average defensive speed is still a good sign for someone who many have questioned his pace.

I tend to look at these numbers a bit and often the sub that comes on is quite high for average speed because they go at full tilt for a quarter or so and the other blokes have averaged down over 4 quarters.

i believe how far we bat in the midfield will be a huge advantage in Darwin. Must be smart with our rotations and the barrels filled footballs and water will be out all week at training.

If the weather stays like it has this week I don’t think it should be too slippery this year. TIO is in ripping knick at the moment

I questioned his pace but only because I'd never seen him play.

Second for avg.def speed is a good answer.

His reaction time and footy IQ is good which makes up for a few short comings with his speed but I'd like to see more games at AFL level before I make a judgement.

agree - Think Buss needs to start next week. Suns are very tall up forward.

The sheer depth of our midfield and experience in hot weather this year has me feeling pretty confident

Hope not this game but Bevo has mentioned Libba may need to be rested a couple times through the season. Given the heat, humidity and travel this could be a game where he does it the other side of the coin is this is a game we need to win to continue our charge for the top 4 and would prefer it against the dons next week.

At that point he may aswell just wait for the bye. I think if he is getting a rest it should be this week, however I'd instead be looking to manage his minutes in game.

Why? They’ve been fairly poor in the last 3 weeks bar the 2nd half last week against the swans we’ve won the last 3 by an average of 11 goals

They’ve had a fairly soft draw so far so wouldn’t be trusting their formline just yet.
Beaten WC, Melb, Crows at home, Swans who were going like a busted, Norf, and lost to the Tigs.

I'd rest Libba after the Darwin game against the Bombers. Following the Bombers game we have only a 5 day break before the Cats game, asking a lot from him taking on a big load so far this season and then come off a short break against the Cats. Sure we have the bye the following week, but if we can give him one game over three weeks and freshen him up a bit mid season, I think that has value.

Reckon we need to go smaller up there in the slippery conditions. Liked what I've seen of Dolan's hands at ground level and Duryea comes in as another small goal-keeper in the backline.

I don't think anyone deserves to be dropped off the back of that game. Even VDM had some crucial handballs clearing packs to set up a couple goals.

I'd be interested to see how much ground Davidson covered compared to his usual very high bench mark but from my eye he looked to be travelling slower and not spreading as much, on top of his disposal letting him down. Although he is mature age we mustn't forget he was playing local football two years ago.
He has hit the ground running but not worth burning him out considering he is already critical to our game.

Earned another game from his solid debut and although it will be slippery and a bit of a slog in Darwin, the Suns play a tall forward line and often the scrap to get the ball forward ends up in high dump kicks where it's useful to have another interceptor or big body to kill the high ball. Gives us the Lobb to shift forward flexibility if needed at any point in the game or to cover for an injury to one of the talls.

Your point about Lobb is spot on. The ability to move him forward in the second quarter against the Giants stopped their intercept defending and JOD, Buss and also Clizz ensured we were not exposed
