When Duggle gets snapped in half in a Kennedy tackle errybody be like "Should have been Hutch"
When Kennedy breaks his arm* tackling the young man made of concrete we will all be like

WOOEE BOY OH BOY

*please Sydney lurkers I am not advocating a JK broken arm so please ****ing calm down,.

Lucas is a bit of a spud but ever since he's come on board he has excelled for the royals. He at least deserves to be upgraded. Adamason has only had good games so far this season as well.

Not true mate, Adamson had some good games last season where he played through the guts and racked up good amounts of possessions and goals. I'd much rather have him elevated and see what he can do with his size and speed at AFL level than see Lucas get 20 possessions and turn over 19 of them.

Not sure why people are whinging about Hutchings being dropped. He had 9 disposals last week in a game we won easily. That's rubbish for a mature midfielder. That's 4 less than the "out of form" 19 year old Duggan.
Are you crazy, that's GAJ re-incarnate your talking about...

Our last win at the SCG was round 9 1999.

Tony Lockett played that day.

To be fair we've only been there 5 times in the following 16 seasons.

The rivalry started with the 2005 QF and sort of petered out around 2008 when we stank it up.

From the 2005 finals to the end of 2007 we played Sydney 7 times in 3 seasons and only once in NSW (2 at Subi, 1 at ANZ IN H&A, 2 at Subi, 2 at MCG in finals). From 2008 to 2014 we went on an 8 game losing run against them. Go us. I only really remember the 2008/9 games which were classic 'shit team tries really hard to get close then ****s up against good team' results for us. Giving up 6 goals in the last quarter at home to a team that only kicked 6 in the first 3 wasn't great, nor was (young) Eric Mackenzie's kick across goal late in the game in the next fixture. The less said about anything between 2010 and 2014 th better.

RE: the changes I'm happy with the ins and outs. I'd prefer Lycett wasn't out but he only has himself to blame. If you're going to punch Tyrone (you silly fat bastard) at least do it properly. Nelson unlucky, but Wellingham is a better option in the back 6. Hutchings didn't do a lot last week and was only in as an emergency for Priddis. With Redden and Jetta now in our midfield mix Hutchings is a 23-26 sort of player which is probably fair. Wouldn't surprise me if he replaces Duggan after a WAFL game or two to get his match fitness up. Duggan has a lot of upside but hasn't really impressed me so far this year.

I break down this week's team (which is pretty much our best 22 save for Lycett and Ellis if people think he is that) as such in no order of importance:

DEF: Hurn, Wellingham, Sheppard, Butler

MID: Gaff, Priddis, Shuey, Yeo, Masten, Jetta, Redden, Duggan

FOR: LeCras, Cripps, Hill

TALLS: Naitanui, McInnes, Mackenzie, McGovern, Schofield, Darling, Kennedy

LeCras and Wellingham to play a small part in our midfield rotation but are primarily forward and back respectively. Those that aren't in the 5 starting mids on the ground slot in on a flank somewhere or are on the bench. Yeo is a bit of utility and is moved all over the place.

I've bolded Jetta, Redden and Duggan because they are the newbies (effectively in Duggan's case) from last year's team. After a couple of games Redden is averaging 17 touches, Jetta nearly 14 and Duggan 11. We will need more from these guys as they settle in. I expect Redden to become a 20-25 possession player and be one of our top few for tackles and clearances. Jetta has never been a huge ball getter but he should become a 15-20 disposal player, and be one of our leaders for I50s and goals from midfielders. Duggan I'm not sure. Averaged 11 touches last year too which isn't enough for a midfielder cum half forward in a contending side. At this point I think we'd get more from a fit Hutchings even though his (Duggan) disposal is sharp. Has only played 16 games and reminds be a bit of Gaff at a similar age in terms of build except doesn't get nearly as much of the ball.

McInnes in.

We win.

Inspired match committee decision. Quite a contested animal is Fraser and will suit the SCG. When rucking in tandem with Sinclair at EP he continually outshone big Cal. Tipping him to come out on top

Kennedy would want to play well this game as he has been well down and i can see Fraser holding his spot*.

*I dont actually believe this but a bit of tyre inflation required.

does everyone expect Wellingham to take that rebounding running defender role again who can rack up 20+ positions?

or more shutdown or mid time?

We hope he'd be rebounding given we have all our KP avail.

sorry i was meant to say 2 game with season. I would like adamson as well but he was dropped to reserves a couple of times this season and just got going in the last two weeks.

Dropping Hill for Hutchings is one of the more creative things I've heard this week.

Hill is chronically underrated by many on here.
I've gotta say I was a Hill hater until this year I made a point of what hint what he does of the ball. I'm starting to like him a lot now. Very underrated

Yeah but no one whinged about Sheed because he was Good ?
That's a remarkably short sighted view of it. Duggan is good, plus tonnes of people complained about Sheed because of his speed and tendency to do the blind kick over the corner.

How are people seriously saying Duggan isn't good?

Sheed was stellar in his 2nd season though ?
sheed is bigger and more of a natural accumulator than what duggan is so it was easier for him to rack up. To be honest duggans had 2 bad games and two ok games this season. he is coming off a knee injury and will take a bit of time. its good to see simmo persisting with kids.

Straight swap upgrade for nelson . Lock down mongrel defender who will mop up and rebound. Hopefully we get the 2015 sharrod back. Tipping 18 disposals 5 tackles.

could see shaz getting a lot more footy this season and gaining more meteres with mackenzie back.

Half of this board thought Sheed was a dud after his first year. Said we should have picked someone else. He came on strong in his second year. Now Duggan hasn't come on as quickly but he is a bit behind for the reasons I mentioned before. Age, size and experience. He will gradually get better though and should provide us with something decent in the near future. I'd rather play him in the first half of the year while we are winning than someone like Hutch who is a mature aged toiler.

If you read i was just stating that no one whinged about Sheed's form in his 2nd year ? Every player comes on at a different time look at Sheppard etc !
