We are Not the real deal untill we hold up the cup ....till then we ain't in my view

But if our midfield all clicks and gels together look out

Where is this notion coming from that if Duggan goes back to the WAFL it's the end of the world?

The WAFL won't kill him FFS. Nobody is saying "he's shit" but how long can you keep an under performing player in a professional team?

Anyone going to pick us next week? I think we will drop this one. Swans midfield is probably going to monster us.
I've tipped against us. As much as I love the Eagles and think they're truly capable of winning the whole thing this year if they perform well often enough and at the right times, on current form the Swans have probably demonstrated more than the Eagles have.

Having said that, hopefully they're a bit sore and bruised after the GotY to date in Adelaide on the weekend. Getting the win here wouldn't be the biggest upset in the world, and would be a massive boon to our top 4 aspirations.

As for ins and outs? Giles and Priddis in for Lycett and Nelson for me. Haven't seen enough out of McInness at the AFL level, but I did see some of Giles in his time at GWS, and he was a fine ruckman. It was always going to be tough for him to secure a spot in such a talented line-up, and then he was moved on to Essendon who seemed to have no interest in playing him. As for Nelson, I'd like to see him get more experience and develop more, but if he makes some clangers against Sydney like he did against Richmond, we'll have an immensity of pressure on us.

If Wellingham is in, the third out could be tricky. Hutchings would be the obvious name to go up, but I really like him as a player, and thought he was solid when he had the ball on Friday. Not the most disposals, but solid when he had it, and 2 goals is a nice return. Honestly though, hard to tell exactly who they should drop. You'd think it'd be out of him, Duggan, Cripps and Redden though, based on Friday night (though Cripps is good for the structure, so I doubt he'd be dropped).

I don't know, they've beaten Carlton, Collingwood and GWS. They haven't come up against the big dogs yet. A key game for us though, for confidence and to get a game up on a top 4 rival.

Jako played as a KPP in a grand final as a 19 year old. Played State of Origin at 18 or 19. No comparison, Jako was incredible as a young player. McIntosh might be a better comparison to Weitering.
Yeah cool, I didn't realise he was only 19 in 91. I'm sure Jakovich was better than Weitering - I just meant I couldn't compare them because I wasn't old enough to

GWS going better than brissie, freo and Tiggies though...

If Swans bring the pressure im not that confident our skills will be up to it on exposed form this first month

I don't think our set up suits us against the swans on a small ground - all flood and sling shot. Their mids are strong and very defensive but work hard off the ball as well.

I think they are working on the concept of giving Duggan and Nelson as many games as they possibly can.
Duggan has not been outstanding but he still does some good work.
Cripps is doing nothing weekly and keeping his spot, Duggan has far more upside in my view.

I don't think we'll beat the swans on the SCG and it isn't diabolical if we don't provided we don't serve up the same shit sandwich we did against hawthorn

Push them like they did the crows and we won't lose any friends

This man has it in one.

Let the mental games begin.

The first bloke dropped should be Cripps and I have no problem nominating his replacement as McGinnity. Cripps is miles from being good enough to warrant a free ticket and has been shit all year. Not even putting defensive pressure on, meanwhile McGinnity is racking up BOG's. Horses for courses..

Other than that;

Wellingham in for Nelson
Priddis for Lycett

You heard right. No replacement for Lycett. McGovern or someone else can pinch hit we are better off with extra grunt at the drop.

You trust McGoverns dicky shoulder in ruck contest with Sydneys rucks?

How's the risk much different to getting smashed into from behind while taking intercept marks? Plus Nic Nat will ruck what 60-70%. Just think we'd get better value from a midfielder than trying to polish a turd in Giles.

There backline is vulnerable however there midfield is fantasic and there forward line is very good .....we should win the ruck though !
