I heard that Tex was given the medical clearance 2-3 weeks ago to play and the club was very much hoping that Tex would have started playing in the sanfl side by now however Tex is committed to giving it a full 12 months before playing

It seems giving it a full 12 months is a important mental milestone for Tex

I've heard, it's the other way round.

Tex is chomping at the bits to play but the club is adamant he waits the 12 months.

If I'm Tex and I watched that crap yesterday, I wouldn't be rushing back at all. Hell I'd consider needing another 6 months or so at least...

They want him to play next week in the magoos. Hes been right to go for a few weeks and has been doing extra skills and weights sessions. I think he wants 12 months which is fine.

April 27th

Still 4 weeks away.

May as well, wait until the bye and then bring him back.

Id say he would be exactly the opposite luckily

Given the results we might not want to be compared to St Kilda right now....
Yeah, they've had two awesome wins against Melbourne and GWS... Just like the West Coast nuffs who think they are awesome after thrashing the Bulldogs at home and then Melbourne away.

Besides the one direct turnover to Wines, what others are you referring to? I guess you are ignoring anything good he did, including out bodying Gray (or might have been Monfries) in a marking contest to take a great grab on the wing.
I'm including the mix up in the 2nd qtr that led to a goal and if I could bring myself to watch the replay I am sure there would be more.

Great, he took a good mark. But he had a hand in costing us 2 goals.

He is 24yrs and 6 months and at best is only ever going to be an average footballer. I'd prefer he didn't clog a spot and give someone like CEY a go to see what he offers. I want to win a flag not be content with mediocrity, if that means being harsh on your lovely boys and being told off so be it.

See, I'm not saying it's a good idea to play him (as the sub) because it's a guarantee that he'll play well against the Swans, but because it will be valuable experience for his development. I'm prepared to accept the short term pain of the inconsistency of a few young players in the team if the aim is a benefit in the long term. I don't necessarily want a team full of rookies as the lack of competitiveness overall can turn into a negative sort of experience, like Melbourne for example, but we need to start shifting selection in this direction because we have been far to focused on experience.

Couldn't agree more. However, having seen him play, I'd be confident of him giving an account of himself as sub or even a full game. Play him for a few games this year for the experience, and the value his pace will add to a slow side. The important thing is not to burn him out. Thinking about it, maybe the Swans is the wrong game. Bring him in against the lower ranked teams.

I'm happy to give it the 12 months.

But he comes straight back. None of this coming back through the RESERVES bullshit (yes, I am calling it reserves, I dont give a shit what the SANFL says).

Round 5 against GWS. Ideal.

Porplyzia's selection on the weekend was a complete and utter waste of time, especially considering it was at the expense of Lyons. It was a staggeringly bad selection. A reasonably trained team of monkeys couldn't have fared worse at the selection table.

Accountability? Clarke? Bickley? Camporeale? Sanderson?

Nah.....

This week, Porps out, Martin in. McKernan out, Jenkins in, and Droopy Dog Harper talking about how stiff everyone is.

Groundhog Day, folks. Get used to it.

edit - What's more, Porplyzia was subbed into the midfield, at possibly the hottest contested game we've played for 18 months. You know - just in case Porps decided to turn into an elite midfielder at 29, and was hiding it from us all this time.

**** me.

Facepalmed when (I think) Bruce said he'd inject some pace into the midfield in the same manner as White did for Port when he was subbed on.

How many of those were right in front of him ?? His chasing was insipid, maybe he gets a week but he would want a seriously improved effort.
Made a contest from a behind kick in then ran the ground for a handball receive for his first goal. Admit there was not enough, but when he is on he's very effective

Only his 9 th afl game

There was something wrong with danger as worst game he has played in a long time. Was indecisive & disposal was worse than usual. Thought he may be sore from last week but mentally he looked shot too.
Captaincy pressures??

Trouble with Patty this year is he's still talking the talk but definitely not walking the walk, personally I'm starting to worry he's starting to believe all the "media" adoration that abounds especially from the Vic media, think he needs to reel in his media "persona" and concentrate on his game!

Not a bad idea considering his confidence will be up

Don't hate that idea either. I've hung quite a lot of shit on Jaensch in my time, and rightly so I think. He has however been pretty good at providing an offensive punch out of the backline in the last couple of weeks, unfortunately, as you mentioned in an earlier post, he just isn't a defender, and that doesn't look like changing. The guy has a nice leg on him, and we need as many of those kicking it into the forward line as we can get.

Jaensch played a good game yesterday, and you seem to be the only one that disagrees. I wanted him de-listed last year as well, but anyone who can't see his good form at present has the blinkers on.

Where does he play then? he is a liability in defense
