Jason Porplyzia will always have a place in the heart of the Crows True Believers. His 2009 season was spectacular. throughout his career, despite suffering from a shoulder that kept dislocating he continued to rip defenders apart. Over the last couple of years his injuries have eaten away at his confidence and he is now a shadow of his former self.

It's sad to say but "It's time to go Jason", thanks for the memories.

Best post of the day.

There is no apparent plan or system - we just stumble along from one disjointed decision to the next.
Brodie Martin back in this week :thumbsu:

Lyons in as sub :thumbsu:

Mitch Grigg, Age 21, Games 7
Matt White, Age 26, Games 107

Slight difference there.

Not to mention that it's likely a lot easier to come on and have a big impact when you're fresh, and everybody else on the ground has played 3 quarters of football*.

*Unless you're Jason Porplyzia.

Rutten is just getting run ragged too often, is going to struggle against anyone with any speed. Hartigan the obvious replacement but not sure if he's ready

Rutten was fine until the dam wall broke in the last, letting Schulz get the ball up on the wing isn't a big deal.

Talia on the other hand didn't have a great game.

It was worth the punt to bring in Podz. We believed that we could bounce back to the top 4 if we had a key forward to keep Tex's spot warm.
You gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to walk away....................

There is an opening for a fitness guy JP.

It's time to go Podz

It wasn't worth the punt, his displayed form for Geelong last season showed it was never worth the punt, and continuing that form this season proves that.

However, it's a bit late to decide he's no good and cut him - hard to replace someone on your list after the season starts.

You're knocking them down like flies tonight. LJ, Pods and Porps all in the one thread.

Jaensch deserves praise instead of criticism. Most disposals and marks over the two games. A few errors, but reilly has been doing that for ten years. He also has a ticker and i think he will play the majority of the year.

Cannot believe johnstons effort yesterday, selfish player and not an AFL player
Pods should of been subbed aswell, we would have done better with both off the field

Otten and Lynch are not ready from their injuries. We are desperately missing lynch up forward, he is key, and Otten immediately makes our backline much better as he very rarely gets beaten. Shaw for Otten as soon as he is fit

Otten looking like 2-3 weeks, so maybe round 4
Lynch will play round 4.

Interesting to see if they rush these two players straight back into AFL, or give them one game in the reserves to gain match fitness. If we are 0-3, the coaches might rush them back to salvage the season

Now to the Swans
INS:
Jenkins. Will replace either Johnston or Mckernan
Petrenko. Think we might go small in the forward line this week
Lyons. straight swap for crouch
laird.

OUTS:
Crouch (injury)
Porplyzia (need to make a call here)
Johnston
Mckernan

Forward line will line up as:

Douglas Jenkins Dangerfield
Betts Podsiadly Petrenko

All clubs find it hard to say farewell to their champions. Even when they know that the time has come, it takes courage to lay the cards on the table. It is best for the club to do it one season too early (Dermie at Hawthorn, Chapman at Geelong) than one season too late.(Stiffy)

It's time to go Truck, thanks for the memories

Talia or Sloane not Jaensch
No way has sloane been better than Jaensch. Sloane was bad against Geelong. He was ok yesterday

Talia and Jaensch would be leading the BnF at the moment. Kerridge would be up there aswell, played well against Geelong and tagged Boak yesterday better than VB ever has

I agree that these changes are all pretty likely.

I'd add that Matt Crouch is a huge chance of debuting. Personally, I'd be doing all of the following:

B Crouch > Lyons (a lock)
Porplyzia > M Crouch (Career unofficially over for the Porpoise unfortunately. Thanks for the memories)
McKernan > Jenkins (I'm not a big JJ fan but McKernan flat out took the piss yesterday and needs to rot in the SANFL as punishment. A disgrace to the jumper after a really promising month of March prior to this IMO)
Reilly > Laird (won't happen but a man can dream - Laird will definitely be in though. Reilly is quite simply not an AFL defender, midfielder, ruckman or forward, so why he was / is selected is completely beyond me)
Podsiadly > Inanimate carbon rod (instant improvement - in all seriousness, this is looking like a worse recruitment decision than Richard Tambling and I have absolutely no faith whatsoever that he'll turn it around - he looked shot to pieces half way through 2013 and the entire football world could see it... apart from his mate Sando. I'd rather bring in Hartigan and swing Talia forward than send Pods out against the Swans. Does anybody seriously think we'd be worse off?)
Johnston > Petrenko or Cameron (I agree with the notion of going smaller up there - what are we going to do, play worse? No. My choice would be Cameron, but the selectors will either pick neither or Pets)

It's a sad state off affairs when there are 5-6 blokes who should be out of the team and Matt Jaensch isn't one of them. He might come top 6 in the B&F at this rate. Can you imagine??? I personally didn't rate his game on the weekend too highly, but there were heaps worse than him.

Chances of all the above happening: zero.

If all of Johnston, McKernan, Porplyzia and Pods are selected in the 22 our board will melt.

Sloane was our best player against Port. Daylight was 2nd, 3rd and 4th.*

*In all seriousness, Richard Douglas was 2nd. I liked Smith and Betts too. Thommo tried. Grigg did a couple of things. Kerridge solid defensively. Didn't mind Truck and Talia's games personally. Jaensch wasn't the worst but the 2-3 pathetic efforts in one on one contests and THAT TURNOVER marred his game. Everyone else was pretty putrid.

Don't know why I bother coming up with player changes anymore. The Crows hardly ever make more than 2 changes a week. Even more than 1 is rare.

I'm in disbelief that we had more inside 50's than Port. Says a bloody lot about the forward line. Poor Betts must be wondering what the hell he has walked into.

Meh I'll have a crack at what I would like to see happen.

IN: (Realistic) Jenkins, Laird, Pup
OUT: LJ, Crouch, Porps

IN: (Wishful) Jenkins, Lynch, Otten, Laird, M Crouch
OUT: LJ, Pods, B Crouch, Porps, Shaw

Lynch and Otten still injured. If by some miracle they get up, we are in with a shot next week

If laird and jenkins don't play, i give up
