Thought it was a longshot for LJ, shaw and Porpoise all to be gone. Happy with the changes.
LJ should have been kept in.

Thought it was a longshot for LJ, shaw and Porpoise all to be gone. Happy with the changes.
Happy with some of the changes, not happy with some others.
- Love that Crouch Jr is in
- Happy with Hartigan coming in but it should've probably been Rutten dropped for him instead of Shaw
- Delighted to finally see Porpy get dropped (please don't come back)
- Disappointed that Charlie Cameron isn't replacing him. I'd much rather see Cameron than Petrenko
- Very happy to have Laird back, he should be replacing Reilly though instead of replacing a forward like Johnston
- Disgusted that Johnston got dropped. If they were going to drop a forward, it had to be Pods
I said it earlier in the week, I think we will go small this week
OUT:
Mckernan- might be due to injury, may not. But he won't play. Jenkins to come in. This is definitely not the last we will see of Smack, he had a good pre season, and I still think he can make it, he may have been injured last week which explains why we didn't see much of him
Shaw- gets opened up by defenders, and so does Reilly. Shaws decision making pretty bad aswell
Crouch- injury. One crouch for another this week. Almost like when Mark Waugh replaces Steve Waugh
Porpoise- collingwood game last year has been his only good game in a long time
LJ- effort last week was bad. Some posters on here believe he is footy smart to go along with his kicking...disagree completely. Not smart enough to get to the right spots, not smart enough to use the ball well up the field, and not smart enough to realise he has to work harder. Would be playing if we didn't have pods, but irrelevant, as they are both gone when tex returns. And is this guy even a good kick?
INS:
Matt crouch
Laird
Petrenko
Jenkins
Lyons or Hartigan (depends if they think Reilly can take a third forward)
Reallt hope these are the changes, especially Matt crouch. And let's hope he doesn't get the green vest

Move to another club.Whilst I'm happy to see Crouch get a game, what the hell does Lyons have to do to get a proper run at AFL level?
I think you've hit the nail on the head with Pods. Another reason too why I knew that Pods wouldn't get dropped this week was because he was played up by the club as a "high profile" recruit, the club would have an expectation that he will be playing in the first Adelaide Oval game and that the crowd expects him to be playing.
The other issue for the club is that they have been getting smashed from pillar to post of late and I think the club isn't ready yet to open themselves up for criticism by dropping Pods. If the club dropped Pods after 2 games it may give the impression that the club made a mistake by recruiting him. I tend to think that the club would rather just play Podsiadly and continue to hope for the best rather then deal with the embarrassment of dropping him so early in the season after promoting his recruiting as heavily as they did in the pre-season.
More goals than Pods.
More tackles than Pods.
More of a bloody future than Pods.
Great move to drop him.
What bullshit role will we invent for Pods to play when he sucks balls at the one we recruited him for again this year??
And if SMcK was friggin concussed, why didn't we sub him off; when did it happen?
With Tex and Jenkins/SMcK around him?
Quite well.
Better than pods.
Lyons should really have played this week. Been knocking down the door for over 12 months. Unlucky to be dropped after geelong game. Will probably ask to be traded if this treatment continuesMove to another club.
I really like his skillset and think he'll eventually have a good career in football. But god he must be a bit of a dunce to turn away from Melbourne's interest.
perhaps, in a world where McKernan wasn't omitted due to a concussion.
Lyons offer's no tackling pressure...? The guy is a tackling machine. Yes, he is on the slower side but it seems in fact that he has gained a genuine yard of pace over the preseason. Ive seen some great run downs from him both in the NAB and in last weeks trial game. The kid can tackle, and as a matter of face can actually play football unlike Petrenko.
My thoughts on Selection:
- Surely you guys are as confused as I am as to why LJ was dropped? Wtf Sando?
- Sorry to be a party pooper, but I would rather Lyons over Crouch. Yes i want to see Bob play as much as the next guy, but we're playing Sydney. Needed Lyons here.
- Would have also liked to see one of CEY or Cameron over Petrenko. We are wasting our time with naming him.
- Happy to see JJ back. It's a confidence booster that he desperately needs.
IN: Matt Crouch (debut), Kyle Hartigan, Josh Jenkins, Rory Laird, Jared Petrenko
OUT: Brad Crouch (leg), Shaun McKernan (concussion), Lewis Johnston (omit), Jason Porplyzia (omit), Sam Shaw (omit)
god dammit Sando, WHY DIDN'T YOU DELIST HIM IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO THIS BULLSHIT!
if you think Petrenko will be able to chase midfielders up and down the wings all day you've got another thing coming!
EDIT: fwiw, I'm actually pretty pleased with the other changes considering Crouch and McKernan were forced.
he clearly isn't working hard enough. We can't call sando soft and complain when he's toughLJ should have been kept in.
Whilst I'm happy to see Crouch get a game, what the hell does Lyons have to do to get a proper run at AFL level?
Missed it by that much, Agent 99.
Overall I really like the changes. What do all the ins have in common? They are hard nuts.
I suspect that Smack would have been dropped if he wasn't injured (I would have preferred Smack to JPod but we couldn't drop all three tall forwards.....yet). Hopefully bringing in Hartigan puts Truck on notice.
Not surprisingly they ignored Jarryd Lyons yet again. Sando likes the "concept" of Petrenko as opposed to someone like Jarryd Lyons who is boring and just gets heaps of clearances. Unlike many others, I remember how well Sam Shaw played in that brief phase of his career when he went for 2 months without an injury.
Officially Gone; Martin, Porplyzia, LJ, Graham
Watch this Space; JPod, Rutten, Reilly, Jaensch (NaBA), Petrenko, Mackay
Waiting in the wings; CEY, RAT, Charlie
Ironic given your position on anyone that disagrees with popular big footy group think.Don't you know BACCS role around here? He is our selection cop. Anyone that has an opinion contrary to our selectors he is all over them.
Idiotic.
He probably would have if he didn't have to replace him with a draft pick in the 70's.god dammit Sando, WHY DIDN'T YOU DELIST HIM IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO THIS BULLSHIT!

I know where you are coming from and agree to an extent with what you're saying but both mine and numerous other's point still stand, he has by no means been the worst of the bunch. Podsiadly faded in and out of the game, but is the most experienced and proven of the lot so probably deserves his chance. If i had not have looked at the team sheet I wouldn't have even noticed that McKernan was playing.
I believe you are confused as to the sequence of events. It normally follows this pattern:Ironic given your position on anyone that disagrees with popular big footy group think.
At least he will be kept in for the remainder of the season, and I mean in the reserves where he belongs.
NoNow serious question, have you not noticed that come selection night BACCS responds to every single post questioning selection every single week?
