Out: Milne becuase he is crap and cannot play interstate, neither can Gehrig and also should be dropped (but won't) so we can play with a similiar team against eagles.. it worked well without him there.

In: A.Thompson (physical hardness against the swans)

Gehrig played pretty well last year in Sydney.

I would suggest Birss is pretty close to missing out. Jones and Attard didn't set the world on fire last week, and Jason Blake's last two games have been ordinary. With Luke Ball (hopefully) to come back in this week, I think Thompson wouldn't need to be included.

In: Ball

That's what I expect to happen: Jones looked completely lost, and his disposal is appalling. Birss has been pretty good since he's been back, although less effective last week, but he had plenty of mates there. Gehrig usually flogs Barry, Milney's been OK of late, but was poor last week.

We need our mids to get more of the pill, and win some clearances. That would go a long way towards winning this game.

Playing Sydney you would expect there to be many, many stoppages. So clearances will definitely be a big factor in who wins the game.

In our previous game with the Swans earlier in the season our pressure (especially our tackling and our pressure in our fwd line) was a key factor in us winning the game. Hopefully we can recapture that sort of intensity (for FOUR quarters) this weekend.

I also expect Jones to be dropped. He is a promising player but at this stage is just isn't ready for AFL. We desperately need Ball back - his work in and around the stoppages will be vital this week. Last week we missed his toughness, tackling and work around the stoppages.

We sure did ... much of his work goes unheralded, until he's missing. Then we notice it!

Clinton Jones isn't up to AFL standard. Surley won't keep his spot. If Brooks doesn't get picked, he has a fair case for feeling really pissed off. Kicking four goals, as well as named in the best, should be given a go.

He's too old and is spent before the first quarter's finished. Might as well bring in someone that can run out the game.

Barry and LRT are injured. They'll probably put Grundy on Gehrig.

The only change will be Jones out for Ball, but I really wish Lyon would take a chance and play Brooks. I would drop Attard for Brooks. JA's had a decent season, but there is no one for him to tag against Sydney and having Brooks in would mean that Kosi could go back to cover Everitt and we could still stretch them up forward. And it isn't like we'll miss Attard's ball-winning ability in the midfield.

I also would like to see Brooks given a go. He is running out of chances but keeps producing in the Scorps. Another that has probably earned a shot at the big time is Ferguson. He has been consistently in the best for the Scorps and is demanding a go through his enormous efforts. Armitage has been working hard too - all three are on the borderline of selection. I like the kid Jones, but he hasn't really done enough to earn a spot like the others I mentioned and his kicking is atrocious. He is quick though and as game as they come.

Out: Jones, Briss
In: Ball, Voss

No need to justify Ball, but Voss will give us some extreme toughness and another marking forward. I think he should have played last week instead of Briss as well.

If we are going to move another markuing target forward, lets make it him and not McGuire, unless he runs it from the back line.
