You might not agree with me, but I don't think I'm being irrational, and I generally explain my position and back it up with evidence, instead of doing the Internet version of sticking my fingers in my ears and yelling over the top of people without actually arguing any of their points.
Maybe I only read your tantrums.

'evidence' FFS.

Grand final appearances . My own criteria, but I feel it's an important measure.

Edit: 15 years probably takes us past our last flag in 98. I should say 14 years, or since our last appearance. Whatever....it's a crap record.

Why is making a grand final an important measure but playing in a prelim isn't?

You either recognise WINNING a grand final as the sole success factor, or acknowledge there are degrees of success you achieve based on how close you get. Can't have it both ways.

Fine. Premierships it is. Throw in Melbourne, St Kilda and Carlton and we are in the worst 6. Feel better?

Which one is it? Premierships, or how close you've come? You've taken a bob each way in your last 2 posts.

I understand why some people only measure it in premierships - it's the ultimate goal - but in a discussion about how a team has performed in the context of player selection and development, no way are we in the worst 6 in the comp for the last 14 years.

How consistently you've put yourself in a position to make a grand final is a much better guide.

Look premierships are the real measure. I'm happy to call it making a GF. Anything less than that is a fail IMO .

Once you get into that wafty .. Putting yourself into a position to win one... Well then you are into the definition the AFC owns. It's a mask for failure.

Now I appreciate why we need to "rest" Jarryd Lyons. It's just not possible for a "KID" who is barely 21 and in his third season of AFL to string together 10 straight games of AFL. Dyson Heppell was shocking tonight, he looked absolutely out on his feet.
