Now I appreciate why we need to "rest" Jarryd Lyons. It's just not possible for a "KID" who is barely 21 and in his third season of AFL to string together 10 straight games of AFL. Dyson Heppell was shocking tonight, he looked absolutely out on his feet.

I just don't get the " rest him because he has played 5 games in a row" whilst we pick the guy who was so injured he couldn't play the game out. If anyone needed the rest it is Mackay, as I said before, sure back in Danger to play at half pace but not Mackay; give him a fortnight to get right.

You don't get the rest him excuse because it's bullshit. You don't rest someone and name them emergency. You're either fit to play or your not. He was dropped.

And just to complete your point of comparison, how many games has heppell now played consecutively this year?

Oh yeah he missed round 6 so just the 5 games in a row at any stage this year.

Probably better examples to use to make your point!

If Essendon were playing Sydney in round 6 and not GWS would he have been rested?

Porps has 5 goals the whole season.
where is the 3-4 goal potential in that?
On top of that he adds nothing in the way of holding the ball in the 50, opponents would be hard pressed to notice him tackling them given he put in the effort to chase but he doesn't run hard either way.
Hasn't kicked more then 3 since 2009 against anyone but GWS.

You might not agree with me, but I don't think I'm being irrational, and I generally explain my position and back it up with evidence, instead of doing the Internet version of sticking my fingers in my ears and yelling over the top of people without actually arguing any of their points.
I do that as well, you just don't agree with me most of the time. From being at the game last week, I thought Porps influenced the contest greater or on par with Lyons. Stats may not back me up, it's just what I took out of the game.

And the week before, while Lyons was awesome in that 2nd quarter, that didn't carry throughout the whole game. I thought Porps' 4th quarter was more critical to our win than Lyons 2nd. I'm not wrong because you don't agree with me.

I'm no Porps hater. He's one of my favourites but I just don't see what we're getting out of playing him at the moment. Not seeing the upside at all. His output has been so poor that I would swap him for Crouch or Lyons in a heartbeat.

To be honest as bad as he's playing, I wouldn't drop Porp yet as he still has that game breaker potential, although we rarely, if ever see it anymore. I'm more inclined to drop 2nd tier seasoned inconsistent veterans who don't have that game breaking ability . i.e. Reilly, Van Berlo, McKay.

Callinan, Porplyzia and Petrenko in the same side. Most out-of-form set of small forwards in the league. We're gonna get mauled.

This:thumbsu:

We can only really carry one of these blokes in the side. Surely we should have 2 of these spots in the forward line for resting mids against one of the best contested footy sides in the comp? Wright would have been a better option. He can at least play mid. Lyons would have been the optimal choice but apparently needs a rest:rolleyes:.

All those players have been in better form than Porplyzia.

This game has been lost at the selection table, Sydney will tear us a new one at the clearances, we wont get within 5 goals :(
