Look I know you are ignoring me but this comment needs expanding. By claiming VB is one of the best captains and leaders in the AFL are you basing this on your superior understanding of leadership and what makes a good captain? If so can you please share those credentials with us otherwise it's just another case of you believing your opinion is gospel and we are mere inferior mortals.

Actually, Elite is right, please expand on the above and educate the rest of us plebs.

I met the best leader we ever had yesterday. His name was Mark Bickley.

Best leader we ever had, now works for 5AA.

Mark Bickley was a very good captain and was a 2 time premiership captain and will go down as one if our best but the best and hardest time we have faced as a club was the first year and Bone did an outstanding job getting the boys up and going in 1991. Chris McDermott was our best captain and best leader. IMO.

I have no problems with people questioning VB's performance. He is well down on where he was performing in 2012. That said, he's not on his pat malone in that regard. Very few of our senior players are performing anywhere near the levels they achieved last year - and some of them have ended up in the SANFL as a result.

That said, questions about his leadership and his position in the team are just flat out ludicrous.

Wrong.. but you usually are, especially when you go on the personal attack, so carry on as always..

Martin's performance was an epic failure. Wright is a master of the wet, in & under, down & dirty game style. He would have been perfect for yesterday's conditions. The fact that nobody has argued against this is a pretty fair indicator that my suggestion/comment was a good one.

If you must launch a personal attack on me (and I know you love doing it), please make it one which is rational, logical and doesn't fall apart as soon as someone with an IQ higher than 2 decides to read it.

You can spin all the rubbish you like. You have a long history of using your agreement with the selectors when it assists you in claiming another poster doesn't have a clue. In the next breath the mighty vader is equally comfortable letting us all know where the selectors have gone wrong. Use them as back up when you need them and then lambast when it suits. At least I'm drunk most of the times I act like a dick.

Hahahah

Gee I wish dipstick was going to play this week. Would have loved to give him some.

Anywho, I don't fancy us here. I think Sydney will be far too good. Unfortunately.

We really need to rally around and win this week.

It's going to be tough but winning is a must to keep our season on track.

Chris McDermott was our best captain and best leader. IMO.

And yet, the year after we cut him, our thought-of-as-average list produced back-to-back premierships.

Yeah?

Wasn't Tony McGinuess captain in 1996 and wasn't that the decision of Robert Shaw?

Everyone has a used by date and everyone must hand over leadership roles.

I stand by my assessment that Bone was the best leader we have had bd the hardest period we have faced was between 1991 and 1993. Without that leadership, we don't establish a solid base to build the club on.

I'm not knocking Mark Bickley and loved him as a player and captain but Bone was better.

Lyons has barely put a foot wrong??

He was good yesterday and very good last week, why would you turf him?
Still has areas of weakness ......Wright is stronger over the ball and just a better all round player ATS than Lyons

My friend coaches a side in the amateur league and has a player with the nickname Shitsnake......I also think this would suit HIM.

Hahaha Shitsnake! thats the second funny thing ive read on the Crows board tonight, I should read this more often. What do you guys think the response to Tippett will be when he makes his debut against the Power? Do you think the Port crowd will unload on him? Will Crows fans go to the game just to chuck their 4 and 20 pie at the back of his head? It will be interesting regardless. The AFL should have made him available for this weeks game, it would have been grand stand viewing, surely someone would have jumped the fence?

My mate wants to go to boo him, not really my style, but I wouldn't be surprised if plenty do.

It would be a fairly boring day out at the footy which would only end with you left voiceless and nothing to do after Tippett was subbed at 3 quarter time.

Sorry, was not necessarily saying those specific players were tough contested type players, i was trying to say that we need to look at some strategic changes this week.

I really think Hendo and Wight need to b e looked at for possible inclusions... Maybe even Jaensch as a small defensive type forward for one of their half backs...

we need SOMETHING.

Look, I'm pretty down after our loss, but I think you're taking it a bit far, in the past 5 weeks we've won 3 and lost 2, and our 2 losses have been against 1st and 4th, and both losses by less than 2 goals. It's not the end of the world and I don't think we're going to achieve anything with wholesale changes.

I think that Freo play like Sydney, more so than anyone else. I think freo are in better form.Sydney however have more dangerous forwards. We chiefly lost to Freo for the same reasons we generally lose to Sydney, failure to convert F50 entries. Unless the changes are forced, I'd be looking at this issue the closet when considering dropping players. Rotating Mckernan from the pocket and in the ruck, would be the most obvious change. If Mckay misses from injury. Thats one change.

If we drop Rielly, who do we use as the sweeper? Otten? Then we 're going to need third KPD, Otten is an obvious match up for Goodes.. Has Vince got it in him to play Reillys sweeping role and then we could bring in another in and under mid like Crouch? if we bring in another mid , I'd of thought one that can handle the physicality of Sydney, one that possibly will tire them as much as possible.

But we don't generally lose to Sydney, we have an outstanding record over them despite their relative golden period over the past 8-10 years. Personally I think we've got a reasonable chance against Sydney, especially at home. At the very least it should be relatively close. Just hope it's not super wet again, we do not play smart wet weather football.

I'd agree with that, but that situation has changed.

It's strange that you would agree with that given that in my recollection you've never been anything but critical of him as captain.
