VB is the captain, he won't be dropped.

In: Crouch, Henderson, McKernan
Out: Mackay (hip), Martin, Reilly

Brown is really struggling atm but who comes in for him? Shaw is still a couple of weeks a way I think.

Drop Otten as well.
1 poor game & you want to drop a player who has been solid most of the season ... but don't worry about Porps who has been shyte nearly all year. Dead set, what do some people think???

People think he isn't providing enough offensively. Look at the big picture. We are too slow and defensive with Rutten/Talia/Otten back there.

Not sure who Mckernan comes in for... but I'd like him back in if the conditions suit. Maybe for Mackay? 2 poor games in a row now.

VB wasn't even that bad. People really have some against the guy, have no idea why.

Can we just make Porps our permanent/specialist sub? Every full game he's played has been a big failure where as his sub performances have been good/match-winning. He's clearly one of the most talented players on our list but for whatever reason doesn't seem up to it this year.

Doesn't seem like we have much AFL-level talent to call on if things go wrong with those in the 22 at this stage. Particularly if our best SANFL player plays like he did against Freo today.
That's just because you're in a negative mood after a loss. Depth doesn't just disappear after a 7 point loss in the wet.

Out:
Mackay
Martin
Reilly (won't happen)
van Berlo (won't happen X 100)

In:
Crouch
McKernan
Henderson
Wright

Otten was bad but 1 bad game shouldn't get you dropped (and before anyone says anything Reilly has had multiple bad games this year and VB hasn't been good since coming back into the team). I'd also like to see Brown given another go, to see if he can bounce back from his stinker today. Show some faith in him and give him some confidence like we did with Kerridge.

We've had 8 changes to the side that took on Freo last year in the finals, thats a fair test of depth right there.

In fact turning back to last years finals, if you were told then that our side would've contained the names it did today, I reckon you would think we would be luck to get close.

FWIW Freo had 5 changes from last year.

We have not shown we have depth. We had no injuries and picked our best side every week last year.

This year we have had serious injuries / poor form / players retiring & leaving. We have been forced to call on our depth this year and it hasn't been pretty.

I don't want to alarm people. But we are 5-5 and the teams we have beaten have a combined record of 10-37. The teams we have beaten are #18, #16, #15, #14, #13 on the ladder.

We have not beaten a team that sits in the top 12 of an 18 team league....

As poor as Ottens was today ( and he was really shit), he can't be dropped. Poor decision to play him given the weather and match ups.

16 possessions and 75% efficiency. Plenty worse than him today.

Its easy to get 75% DE when you are chipping the ball around like Joel Bowden. This is a classic case where his stats make him look better than he truly was.

He has been outstanding this year defensively. His offensive output isn't as good as it needs to be (or he is capable of).

There were worse than him but if you think he had even an alright game, then you didn't watch it. He was shit today, no point shying away from it.

He might even feature in Freos B&F this year for his fourth quarter effort
