I for one am shocked that a team would pick replacement tall players. Surely they've got a half back/midfielder running around in the NEAFL they could chuck up forward as a medium marking target?

It could have worked out 2 ways IMO.

We could have ended up with Cam McCarthy(fwd) and Toby Nankervis(ruck/fwd) as our first 2 picks. (they were who I was after anyway)

But due to the Polec trade we have Polec, Impey and Harvey. Still happy with that.

He doesnt snag goals when he is given shut down roles. That's why I posted what I did.

It has been one of the more bewildering negative moves of the season. The guy has kicked 7 goals against Geelong at Kardinia Park when we were getting smacked as usual. He's a talented footballer with terrific goal sense. And he's playing defensive roles?

Why not pick Paul Stewart and let him tag defenders? Then let Gus actually create and kick goals.

Apparently that half back/midfielder is over 90 kgs, so he isn't required against the Power.

Yep, we've cycled through 35 players already this year. Our more mature depth players haven't stepped up and our existing players within the 22 are down on form en masse.
