I just had a thought. Now all this losing may have gotten to me but hear me out.

We're officially at the lowest ebb of our season so far. We've lost to both Brisbane and now Carlton. Many are saying our season is shot. We're hopeless.

Do you guys remember a time when we were at our lowest, with no hope. We needed a hero, a saviour. Who was it that filled us with hope? Gave us a light in our darkest hour?

John. Freaking. Butcher. 'The Future'

It's his time.
Yeah, sorry to tell you... But the losing has effected you...

I can't believe some people are suggesting one change. Since when was a loss to the bottom side an acceptable thing for our club, is this where we are at as a club at the moment? You are very soft.

Ken needs to make a statement, and drop one of the players from the leadership group.

Out

Jonas - Been absolutely shocking all year and there is no way he deserves his spot in the team. He looks like he is drunk when he is running and his lack of intensity is appalling. Just to add to that, he'd have to be one of the worst kicks in the AFL. DROP! DROP! DROP! DROP! DROP!

Pittard - I think its time to send him back so the SANFL. He costs the team more goals than he is worth as an attacking threat from the backline. Broadbent and Krak are two rebounding backman and with the help of Carlile and Hombsch I think that is enough. He kills the momentum of the team and I think the other defenders and players must be tired of it.

Mitchell - Well we all know he's simply not up to AFL standard. I think he could play a roll as harassing small forward (would do a better job than Monfries does at it) but I think he has to go, and forever.

In

Amon (sub), Clurey, Ryder

Other comments:

Lobbe: I have been a major critic of his games this year and if we could drop him I would most definitely be putting his name up there. Unfortunately not an option, we need to play Ryder as a forward.

Moore: Not happy with his game, would like to see him get given a tagging role in midfield, match up on the big bodied midfielder of the opposition. Starting with JPK. Unfortunately we are at the stage where we need to start giving these kids a real go, not chucking them out of position.

Hammer: I really think he should be dropped too but we are running out of replacements. Maybe even start him as the sub, he needs some sort of rocket.

It may be a bit early in the year for this drastic move but maybe we should tade Jonas to a bank fornsome currency. Use that currency to buy some high calorie big macs and get our lads to eat and eat to put some bloody weight on so that one day Just maybe one day we can stick neh actually make a tackle!

Butcher would be behind Harvey at this point.

I'm thinking it will be

IN: Clurey, Amon and Ryder
OUT: Jonas, Mitchell and Moore

Clurey to replace Jonas
Amon to replace Mitchell
Ryder to replace Moore who I'd say is a tad unlucky

Boak moves to the midfield instead of playing fwd pocket
Krak plays fwd flank, Impey back pocket (swap them if one is getting beaten in their matchup)
Amon sub, Arch full game
Pittard moves to back flank instead of wing
Broadbent moves to back flank instead of the middle
Hoon moves to wing instead of back flank, giving him more space and less pressure when kicking

Tom Jonas needs a spell, he is the glaringly obvious one to drop. After that you could throw a blanket over about a dozen players who are under performing and could potentially be dropped.

So Butcher takes the mark from Mitchell's last kick of the day against Carlton (just imagining), then Butcher proceeds to kick it out of bounds on the full..... that's where we are at. Butcher has his own bunch of mental problems, he would be swallowed up into a black hole if he came back in!

Butcher is finished, he is playing fullback in the SANFL to make way for Billy Frampton, Dougal Howard and Mitch Harvey.

Beside the obvious in Jonas and Mitchell, I would also like to shine the light on Monfries. He's only had about 2 good games this year and he doesn't do much harassing in the forward line anymore. Maybe he needs a spell or rest or something. So if Hinkley is serious about making a statement, then we need some "comfort zone" players to be dropped.

Out: Monfries In: Neade
Out: Jonas In: Clurey
Out: Mitchell In: Amon

Not sure if Ryder is close but given Schulz' form at the minute, he could do with a chop out in the forward line. Who goes out for him I'm not sure though.

I don't see enough (ie any) SANFL to comment sensibly on who should come in.

My one comment is in relation to Monfries. We really need to think about his role. I get that part of it is nullifying an opponent's attacking defender but is that worthwhile when he is not getting enough of it himself? From what I have seen over the past couple of weeks, is that any attempt to get the ball to Gus is likely to end in a stalemate in which he doesn't usually have anyone helping.

Note: I'm not calling for him to be dropped at the moment. He is clearly capable of performing a role for us. I Just think he needs to concentrate a bit more in the attacking part of his game.
