Neade is doing pretty bloody well. He's just not having 4 quarter performances. He'll kick 3 goals in a half and then be quiet the next. He should absolutely be in the selection frame at the moment though. His ball use going forward and composure are behind only Wingard and Krak.

This was basically what I thought was the case.

I watch most of Port's games, and to be honest, I'm always barracking against you (big surprise, I know). Looking at games as an anti-supporter makes it easy to identify quality players and spuds (the quality players annoy the hell out of me, and the spuds are my favourites). Emotions don't really get in the way like they do with Crows games.

Neade is one of the guys that always seems dangerous. He's young and therefore inconsistent, but it astounds me that he hasn't been playing most weeks.

hopefully hes in by the end of the year.

His kicking was awful at the start of the year. I put that down to nerves and poor decision making. When he is in form, his kicking is absolutely elite. Top 5 at the club.

During the preseason someone at the club told me "Matt Lobbe is very aware Ryder is at the club now. He's training harder and longer to ensure there's no slip up in form". He said this as a positive thing, that Lobbe's rising to the challenge of having a "star" recruit at the club who plays his position.
Perhaps Lobbe is feeling the pressure of Ryder's presence in a slightly negative way insomuch as he's placing too much pressure on himself and trying too hard.

You could almost say the entire team is trying too hard. Expect for the tackling. We're not tackling too hard at all.

We have some real enforcers in our 22 that are simply not enforcing.

Hartlett was horrible again - out

25 touches, 10 contested, 72% efficiency. 6 tackles. Copped a hit from the biggest guy on Carlton's team Levi Casboult to take a contested intercept mark. What the hell do you people want from him?

More of a presence and not a quiet achiever?

250 touches, 100 contested, 172% efficiency. 60tackles. Plus 10 goals. ;)
Sometimes I think we as supporters have unrealistic expectations on some of our players. There is no way he gets dropped.

Jonas and Mitchell out with Ryder and Clurey in. Though I would like to see Amon back in but I'm not sure who would go out in his place.

Hartlett isn't at his best. But he is absolutely best 18. And is getting some touch back.

People need to think before they write stuff
Agree. I suspect his injury was worse than we realised. There is always a lot going on behind the scenes with players and coaches so I am always hesitant to judge. It doesn't help the players if the supporters don't support and it can be embarrassing for the knocker when issues we aren't
aware of see the light of day. He who is in a glass house as the saying goes.....

Yes .. they write stuff and stuff up the stuff they are writing and in the end they know stuff all on what they writing lol .. like me sometimes:)

He is capable of 4 or 5 magic moments per game and that is probably why he is our highest ever draft pick.
His grunt has been good, and sometimes even a bit better, but his super high draft pick with one of the best kicks in the comp moments have been missing.

Dropped? Wtf?
Disapponited with his season so far? Yeah, a bit. If what he can give the team is 10 it would be around 6.5 to 7 max.

EDIT: Read it again and it sounds a bit harsher than it was meant. I suppose what we have come to expect but has been missing is his elite kicking. It hasn't been elite and at times a long way short of elite.

There will only be one change I think because of the awkward bye

Ryder will come in. Mitchell should drop out, but I have a feeling that Moore will

I'd be surprised if we see Mitchell again if we are serious about improving this team - that would be Ken being stubborn more than the gameplan.

I am being a little facetious as I am going overseas and will miss the next 2 home games anyway, but I definitely will be disappointed if Mitchell doesn't get dropped. I wasn't one of those that thought his good SANFL form meant he should have been picked in the Power team. Plenty of great SANFL players have failed to step it up in the AFL.

Mitchell can play AFL standard footy. The problem is it's only likely to happen during periods of games. The lapses, much like Jonas and Pittard at the moment, are too frequent and costly to tolerate. Substitute material only IMO.

Agreed One Mitchell type disposal player you can handle but when he is in the side with a few others whose disposal is terrible as well we are cooked. I firmly believe the opposition allow mitchell to run free as they think he will turn it over and catch us out.

Don't agree, it seemed the view from WA was his disposal is ordinary and that's exactly what it turned out to be. If you're disposal is that poor, then I don't know where you can hide a player in the team.

In the green vest

For him to come on streaming down the centre with less than a minute to go in the game, shank it to the opposition?
I agree I want Mitchell banished but if Ken stubbornly persists with him then please may it only be as the sub. Please Ken stop listening to voss and persisting with having clearance players as subs as opposed to outside link players.

Not sure about the clearance players as sub is a bad thing. Young has played best as sub and Ah Chee has looked good as well. There maybe something to it, that and we don't have a decent outside player to run as sub maybe. If Moore stays in then maybe thats his spot against the Swans?
