Are you saying Rhys Stanley beat him in the Geelong game?

Hickey - 25 disposals (12 contested), 4 clangers, 7 marks, 32 hitouts, 12 clearances, 5 tackles, a goal and 141 fantasy points.

Stanley - 21 disposals (14 contested), 7 clangers, 4 marks, 30 hitouts, 5 clearances, 3 tackles, a goal and 110 fantasy points.

Sort of similar stats, but you'll notice that the Hickster was better in all regards, plus he had twice as many clearances (which is pretty important for a ruckman). Additionally, the the Hickster was regarded unanimously as our best player in our worst loss, and I've yet to see Vardy even make the top 5 in a win yet.

The actual score lines as solo rucks would be this:

Hickey - 1-0 as our best player in a terrible loss.

Vardy - 1-4, with his only win being against a 21 year old ruckman.

It's how many premiership points, not how pretty you look out there.

Vardy 20
Hickey 0

I agree, Vardy's 5 touches against the Demons a couple weeks ago were absolutely crucial.

Whichever way you look at it, the Hickster has been the superior ruckman (and player) this year.

Now you are starting to talk sense.

5.43 left. 4th quarter. Eagles lead by 6 points. Vardy intercepts a Dees handball. Gives a handball to Cripps and blocks out 2 Melbourne players to let Cripps run to 50 and kick the sealer.

HickGod does that 100 times a game, while also being a better ruckman. For his good form recently, the Hickster already has Vards covered in most areas.

Hickey has been an established ruck for quite some time. Vardys really in his first year as a #1 Full time ruckman. I’d say they are both performing as you would expect.

Vardy got spanked against the dees. One nice intercept at the end, but he got beaten, plain & simple. Granted, Hickey would have been beaten as well, Gawns in terrific form this year. But I think the experienced Hickey would have at least halved more of the hit outs at least AND worked hard on the outside. He’s a good runner, is Tom.

You can’t fault Vardy’s effort though since then. He’s been much better the last couple of weeks. Winning hit outs but the ones he is losing he is halving much better. Against the best rucks though I feel Hickey is the better option. He’s got more tricks IMO.

LOL, Mc's just gonna throw Oscar Allen in defence and bring in Hickey.

If Hurn had a tight hamstring I doubt he would be running at all, especially on Tuesday only 2 days after the game. In 5 days he will be fine so if he misses it's simply because they are taking no risk at all.

Hearing news on Hurn is great..

Now changes.. We are playing the SCG. That fwd set up isnt for the SCG. Decent game Waterman but he makes way due to the small ground we are playing on.

Waterman out for 1 of the guys who have been emergencies lately regardless if they played average in the loss to the mighty Monts.

Smith or Cameron.
give it a bloody rest champ/ There's zero chance he gets dropped after a 3 goal, 22 possession, 7 score involvement and 7 mark game.

He basically did his job as the connecter between the arc with an even 50% split between the forward and defensive half.
