Pretty sure Sylvia and Davey should be outs if Neeld is serious about dropping players regardless of 'stature'. Both these players offered pretty much zero I would have thought.

Davey was caught off the ball miles behind the contest on more than one occasion. I watched him ghost onto the ground, jogging to where the ball was headed, then the next thing I knew, hawks' backs were running it out of that exact spot. He is shizen at the moment. Both of them are. Are they part of our future? Not so sure anymore. Didn't seem to give two shits tonight, that's what pisses me off

Davey was far from our worst last night - not even in our bottom ten. Check your bias at the door Dj.

Ok, so having watched the Casey game hers what id like to see vs Sydney

In -

Sam Blease, Rory Taggert, Jack Watts, Liam Jurrah, Brad Green

Out -

Ricky Petterd, Jamie Bennell, Jack Trengove, Colin Sylvia, Rohan Bail

You can't drop Trenners. It would destroy his confidence. Besides, he's not been in our worst 4-5, although I admit he is well out of form.

Especially on the smaller ground. We need Trengove for the close in stuff. I think Sylvia will get another go as well for a similar reason. I must admit Trenners does look tired atm but an 8 day break will help.

If Watts comes in then Petterd has to go out I think but just 1 game back for RP would be stiff.

Agree with the calls for Bail to be given a spell, he was gone 10 minutes into the first quarter, doesn't seem in good nic atm - rest.

I think both Bate and Morton will struggle at the SCG but they won't be dropped I don't think.

If everything goes well on Thursday for Jurrah then he has to be in the mix for Saturday for some continuity unless they play him in the Casey 2nds.

I don't want Ricky Petterd dropped, yes he was terrible but chucking him back and forth does him no good. He had an extended good spell at Casey, therefore deserves more than one chance at AFL level.

Ditto Dunn, one good VFL game should not see him as an automatic in.

In: Martin, Blease
Out: Fitzpatrick, Bail

I like Bail, but Blease has been knocking on the door and can't afford to drop a big body for a Sydney clash. Like-for-like.

May be the case but he certainly wasn't in our top ten either. So all we expect from Flash is to not be among the ten worst players on the ground? There's no bias here mate, I love Davey. Just thought he gave up last night after watching him closely. I probably am more harsh on him than others because I expect more from him. If that's a bias than so be it

He didn't get a great deal of touches last night but, then, who did? He still put on some pressure, used the ball well and laid six tackles. He is doing the job asked of him, even though he has lost a yard of pace and isn't the same player he was 2-3 years ago.

ok, having slept on things and watching the Casey game. hers what id like to see thius week

In -

Liam Jurrah - goes without saying
Sam Blease - has been playing great at VFL level, and hes what we need
Jack Watts - has done enough. Wont be overlooked since Casey have a bye
Brad Green - great user of the footy,

Out -

Rohan Bail - has struggled for a few weeks. Zero tackles vs Hawks
Colin Sylvia - is underdone., and had just 1 tackle vs Hawks
Matthew Bate - not a part of the future. Has no impact on games
Jamie Bennell - it was him or Petterd, and Petterd potentially offers a lot more

B - Rivers Frawley Bartram

HB - T.McDonald Garland Grimes

C - Blease Jones Morton

HF - Petterd Clark Davey

F - Watts Green Howe

R - Jamar Trengove Magner

I/C - Moloney Fitzpatrick McKenzie Jurrah (sub)

Jurrah as sub I like, although I'm a bit worried we'll be very far gone by the time he is activated. If Bate wears the green vest again this season I'll tear my hair out. You can make some arguments for or against him being selected at all, but I don't see any logic to him being the sub as he is simply not an impact player.

I'd much rather Taggert or Nicho be put in for Brad Green. Otherwise keep Sylvia in and play him as Clark's foil.

Out: spud, dud, disinterested downhill skier, hack

In: dud, spud, marshmallow, hack, fringe vfl player

Some people want to jump on Bennell. I think he should be given same opportunity as Morton and given a few games. Changing from VFL to AFL can take time to get used to.
Out - Fitzpatrick and Bate
In - Jurrah and Martin.

I know this isn't giving Fitzy the Morton treatment however I feel he will get his
chance and we need Martins strength.

Minimal changes out fitzpatrick,
in-blease,taggert,

Sounds as though there will be a few changes again this week and Sylvia is one name Neeld has thrown up as potentially being dropped. Plenty played well down at Casey too and we had plenty of rubbish on Friday night so, really, take your pick. It could be any one of 10 players being dropped this week.

Out: Bail - hasn't done enough, Fitzpatrick - Martin in is an obvious choice, McDonald - has lost confidence; is costing us goals, Bennell - get involved son, Bate - not doing enough

In: MacDonald - replaces McDonald; will win contests and not butcher the ball as much, Martin - easily best 22 when fit, Taggert - really impressive on the weekend, Tapscott - was solid and strong in the contest, Jurrah - been very impressed with his defensive intent and intensity.

Watts gets another week out; I think he expects a call up this week and it showed in the VFL... he played well, but I don't think he cared one bit.

Not acceptable.

Team:

FB: Batram Frawley Rivers
B: Grimes Garland Macdonald
C: Sylvia Jones Morton
F: Tapscott Martin Howe
FF: Davey Clark Jurrah
R: Jamar Trengove Taggert
Int: McKenzie Petterd Magner
S: Moloney

In what world has McDonald lost confidence?

Any side would look underwhelming against Franklin, Hale, Roughead, Rioli and Puopulo

TPM - Watts is a tough one this week. Casey don't play for a fortnight so he has had these last 2 weeks to plead his case for a recall and, if it doesn't happen, then he isn't playing next week full stop. One thing that works in his favour is that there are plenty of players who are worthy of being dropped which could see him return to the side.

Fair call CFH; obviously there could be mitigating factors.

If he's tearing up the track at training for example, and was just told to go a bit easier in the game and get some miles into his legs.

As for McDonald, I don't think he's playing his role or deserving of his spot.

Put simply he's making too many mistakes.

He trailed his man all night and barely offered a contest; if it's good enough for Watts to be dropped after a poor game then the same goes for McDonald.

Sometime this year i wouldn't mind the forward line a little like this.

FF Petterd Clark Howe
HF Davey Cook Watts

Cook will be a good CHF player, In TAC he was used as a lead up man and he knows where to position himself. Watts on the flank because he has more strength in the running and agility side of things but also three talls stretch the opposition and we can form miss-matches. It looks a little more dangerous then Dunn, Bennell, Sylvia and Bate in there.

TPM, what has Watts proved since being in the VFL? What do we now know that we didn't a fortnight ago? Nothing! He is still doesn’t attack the footy, just because he's too good for VFL football shouldn't mask the fact he is yet to learn his lesson. Nothing has changed and nothing will if you don’t follow through with your threats.

Also bringing in serial ball butcher Joel MacDonald for anyone based on disposal is insane (excludes Barts). Yep Tom fluffed a couple of kicks over the past few weeks, but he has years of doing it till he get to the Joel MacDonald hall of fame.
