Played his first game back from injury on Saturday, wasn't great. Needs more time.
It's his first game back played in different intensity to anything he's ever used to (much less than AFL finals but much better than NEAFL). Like you said he needs the time, but he's a best 22 player.

Hey doggies fans.. i don't think you guys want to play small forward line because that's where crows excel. I think our weakness is if you can stretch out defence by playing talls if you have the personnel.

I was thinking this also. Time for the Cordy, Redpath and Boyd experiment this week in the forward line.

If not marked (which is likely if not kicked to boyd, or redpath on his own) it will be down the other end quicker than u can say Ayce. We would be way too slow I fear.

Out with Cordy! Time to bring big Tommy Campbell in to destroy the Crows' backline :D

Wood is 186cm and 84kg, Jenkins (I'm assuming that's who you mean by JJ) is 199cm and 107kg. No chance those two matchup haha

More likely to be Talia on Tex, Roughead on Jenkins, Wood on Betts maybe and Hamling on Lynch. Then Boyd and Murphy to take the remaining two bodies in the forward line and peel off to help the other blokes shut down what is an exceptionally good forward line in my opinion (would absolutely love to get Jenkins)

Yeah apologies, did not realise that Wood was that small. He plays so much taller! I just thought that he would be able to go with the pace of Jenkins (JJ). Roughead is a great mover, so agreed he could go to JJ and would completely blanket him you'd think.

Crameri is another one I forgot about too. So many tricky match ups down at the kennel. Stringer seriously worries me and Id almost think we would send Talia to him, Hartigan to Boyd and then Kelly to Crameri. Going to be very interesting how both sides will line up come Sunday.

Think Jenkins will be too athletic for Rough so he's going to need some help from our backline to get on top of him.

I think it's pretty likely Redpath comes in for Cordy and he's another very big unit so you might not get the luxury of sending Talia to Stringer which would be a win for us.

Our forward lines very hit and miss, on paper it's very hard to match up on with Boyd, probably Redpath and Stringer, Crameri as tall mediums and even Dicko who can play as a marking target. But in reality if Red and Boyd aren't sticking their marks and aren't being accountable defensively well we will get ripped by your rebounding defenders.

I would be going with Roughie on jenkins, Talia on Walker and Wood or Hamling to Lynch

I think we can stretch them up forward with a Redpath or a Campbell as if Talia has to go to Boyd and Hartigan to one of Redpath/Campbell then Stringer and Crameri get a mismatch or an inexperienced Kelly

Really don't know who they would have on Stringer. Couple on the crows board suggested Talia but I'm not sure D.Talia has the pace off the mark to go with Stringer on the lead. Also keeping in mind that Talia would have to follow stringer around at the stoppages, which is probably a bit of a waste for them.

Agree also If he does it leaves a 194cm Hartigan on Boyd and also Crameri and our other tall have a mismatch, I don't think they have any choice but for Talia to take Boyd especially after sunday

So Crameri should have a Mismatch on Kelly? and If a Campbell or Redpath play they will have a mismatch as well major positive for us

Adelaide have 2 absolute gun defenders in Talia and Smith but it drops away substantially after that. Think Stringer/Crameri/Dickson could get off the chain if our midfield holds.

That is the common conception; however, it has actually been our defence that has been our strongest line this year. In terms of smalls Luke Brown is criminally underrated outside Adelaide, while Matthew Jaensch has improved his defensive side alot the last 18 months (while always being strong offensively). Hartigan has started the year well easily beating all of Waite, White and Dawes (yes spuds I know). It is in team defence and tackling pressure though where we have really improved. Should be a good game!

Brown would go to Dahlhaus, Jaensch to Dickson, Talia to Boyd, Hartigan to Redpath/Cordy, Kelly to Crameri, who goes to stringer?

But yes Adelaide's team defence has been superb.

Hear hear. Except when I suggested selecting Cordy twice was a match committee fail, I was taken to task for the comment.

IN: Redpath, new Match Committee
OUT: Cordy, old Match Committee

I'd be happy with Campbell as an inclusion also.
Plenty more games to come and this is a development year after all. Every player deserves a block of games and support to see the best they can do and how best used for team advantage, not just their individual stats.

I can see Jong up forward. He plays taller than 1.88m, doesn't mind crashing a pack and would harass defenders all day long. Foxfooty showed some footage of him at halftime vs Hawthorn where he got in the way of Toyd in his eagerness to get at the ball. If he moves to the right spots and crumbs instead of impeding others he could be very damaging. Throw one of the other pups into the mid.
With his speed and good hands he could be a great lead out target. His set shots have been sound too. Better than Stringers but Tory's the man.

Cordy has offered zero in his two games. Which is frustrating to watch. Just show me something Ayce!!

Redpath to come in (Think he had a decent game in the VFL?)

Hoping to see the Bont, Moyd, Hamling and Hunter in.

In: Bont, Hamling, Moyd, Redpath, Wood
Out: Wallis, Morris, Hrovat, Cordy, Stevens

Hrovat unlucky, but hasn't shown too much since breaking his ribs. Needs to dominate in the VFL to build his confidence after a having a difficult time against the Hawks. He should come in for Goodes once Wallis is fit again. IMO Goodes has to be in and under in the absence of Wallis as we simply need a bigger body in the guts against Sloane, Thompson and Danger. Moyd should stay across half back where he is now more damaging, and only pinch hit in the middle if Adelaide get on top (may happen more than we care to admit). Hamling replaces Morris. Webb stays in- albeit on the bench- to learn from Moyd and Murph. The Bont can go wherever and do whatever he wants.

EDIT: Wood in for Stevens, freeing up Moyd for more midfield time and more time for Webb across half-back. I'm not usually a fan of wholesale changes, especially after a predictable loss to the reigning premiers, but injuries/returns have forced our hand somewhat.
