Do we have a trade and draft thread? Yes!

Should we have a silly little thread where we can make cathartic posts about who we never want to see again? Yes!

  • See ya later Sparrow ya silly, useless goose. Will any other team want him? Maybe! Trade for a bag of potatoes please.
  • Salem's Lot might be at another club for a token pick. Twinkle twinkle you little not-a-star.
  • Laser? Move over Laurie, we have Harvey LASER Langford now. Trade for 15th round pick upgrade.
  • Lever? I hardly know her! Tee hee hee. But seriously, do feel free to leave.
  • Clarry and Trac? More like... actually, I can't think of anything. But one of you can also leave please.

Yeah I agree mostly with you DP.

I actually think keeping Lever would be good because we have really lacked leadership down back since he has gone (and just hope against hope he finds form).

Keep Trac, his upside is massive and he can play multiple positions. That's if he wants to stay. Give Oliver away for practically nothing.

Still:

I think I heard the process will take 6 weeks, something along the lines we'll have a new coach by the end of September.
Really needs to be sorted prior to the GF. Trade period begins on 6 October, new coach needs time to have conversations with players + FD staff and work out a strategy for the trade/draft period, otherwise it'll be another year stuck in a holding pattern.

Exactly. Isn't that the whole point of sacking Goody early?

Don't worry, the new coach is going to hit the ground running and start in February.

Imagine so. Would expect that an offseason/list strategy is part of the interview process, too.

Until Troy Chaplin decides he wants to hold onto the interim role for just a bit longer

He's not an 'interim' coach!! :madv1: :madv1: :madv1:

On this, it'd be interesting to see what part it plays in the final decision. Will the club favour a candidate who wants to shake things up, or will they immediately reject someone who wants to try and ship off some of our overpaid former stars?

Hope it's the former, worried it's the latter.

Just from Guerra's interview yesterday I got the sense that they were pretty open minded about it.
