Yeah that's fair enough, thinking about it a bit more that's asking a lot of Gus. We've seen Lewis and Vince fill the hole and it requires them to organise the players up field and around them as well so considering Gus doesn't have the experience of those two players and is only starting to regain confidence that should be left to the likes of Lewis and Vince and the other defenders if need be. Will be interesting to see what happens with Gus for the rest of the year.

The HBF role at Carlton is a walk in the park because they play with an 8 man defence so Simpson and Docherty get fed the ball. The HBF in our team are under high pressure with the zone and poor kicks cost us goals on turnover because our zone is out.

Bombers are playing Adelaide without Fantasia and Merrett next week id assume so they might drop that one. So we could be back in the 8 again fast

Brayshaw plays midfield if he comes in, not HBF. Like TK said having him stand in the hole first game back at AFL a level is pretty unfair, tell him to bust a gut on the spread and look to receive the ball.

He's an interesting one as an outside player, he doesn't have elite pace or skills but is above average in both and kicks well on his left. Stretch is similar (Although he has that excellent agility that Jetta has).

This is probably going to be the biggest game between us since the 06 EF. This is basically an EF just not in a finals format. Close to a 50/50 game this one, leaning towards the Saints winning though. Should be a cracker.

Think Melbourne will beat st.kilda. Saints are not playing great football, think it will come down to beat the pies..... you guys when at your best can beat any team but your worst is shocking a lot like Collingwood actually. You guys are on the right track if you don't make finals this year you will make finals easily next year baring injuries.

If the St Kilda gameplan involves more long bombing to 2/3 saint players crashing into each other then your Dees are in with a decent chance of winning. Watching the WC Saints game today was a mixture of frustration and a feeling like the Saints young guns are finally stepping up to replace Montagna/Riewoldt etc.

I'd like to see us try small ball for a week or two to get our hands back on the ball more often and create more pressure

It would be a massive turn around in form if we came out and beat the Saints. We cannot kick a winning score. We haven't reached 100 since we smashed the WB, and that seems an eternity ago. I'm not sure what has happened, but I feel its a mix of lethargy and opposition working out our gameplan. Since the WCE game where we snuck in a last minute win with 99pts, we have scored , 50, 90, 70, 88, 72 and 62. I don't know what, but something has to drastically change in 6 days for us to win this game. I cannot believe the odds for St.Kilda this weekend. I'm loading up on the Saints as well. We are cooked. No run and no spread across the ground. And clearly whatever we had going on earlier in the season in regards to attack, is long gone. Maybe Troy Chaplin as our offensive co-ordinator should be looked at post season. Might be worth getting someone in who has spend more than 5 seconds in the forward half. Just a thought..
