3-5 years
Or sooner.
I think he'll make it and be a force.
Nerves/confidence/youth/occasion/loss of focus, all pretty understandable in such a pressure game at such a young age and with the draft pick pressure.
Let him grow into his role and potential over the next 20 games,I'm optimistic that he'll deliver.

In: Fyfe, Sandilands, Hughes
Out: Sheridan, Kersten, Darcy

I can't justify 2 ruckman of that size. Going to need all the run on deck for Saints.

Hughes Hamling Spurr
Blakeley Johnson Weller
B.Hill Mundy S.Hill
Walters Fyfe Logue
Ballantyne McCarthy Crozier
Sandilands Neale

Cox Suban Ryan Deluca

If not Darcy, Ryan.

I don't really get the Logue and Ryan backlash. Logue has only played 5 games out of position and Ryan 3? I feel like they presented a bit more today along with Cox compared to the senior heads who should of been the ones to close out that game.

All 3 should be drop-proof for the rest of the year if we're serious about this rebuild. Hughes and Nyhuis can come in through Sheridan and Spurr. Collins through Johnson if we want to generate games into the youngsters.

:thumbsu:Totally agree , and I am Deathly serious .

That's like saying "sure, getting punched in the head is bad, but have you ever been shot by a kalashnikov?"
Well Shane Kersten has kicked 14 goals in 12 games for freo this year. Colin Sylvia kicked 1 goal from 6 games in 2 years with freo. Jack Anthony Kicked 3 goals from 8 games in his 2 years with us.

Kersten isnt the worst player to play for us. At least with the AK 47, its a quick death. Having Sylvia or Anthony play for freo is the equivalent of being tea bagged to death by Tough man Tony Abbott: A slow painful and cruel death indeed.

How does any of that help us now? I don't think anyone's going to argue that Kersten provided more value in the last 60 seconds of the game vs North than both Sylvia and Anthony did in 2 years combined. But the topic isn't shittest Freo players of all time, it's who do we put on the park next week.

Greetings all. Lurked forever but since I'm in QLD and have nobody to talk footy with, let alone Freo, I have cracked and posted.

Sheridan -> Hughes
Kersten -> Someone else. Taberner I guess through genuine lack of a good option. Not sure two ruckman is the answer to that either. Would seem harsh to drop Darcy if Sandy is fit. St Kilda's rucks are pretty ordinary.

Always been a big fan but today was the first game where I found it hard to defend Spurr. Not sure he gets dropped though. Was surprised to see he had 20+ touches so I might be a touch harsh on him (ie if he was awful with most of those would be more noticeable).

Definitely don't want any of Logue, Ryan or Cox dropped. Sure they aren't great and often won't be for ~50 games (Cox was pretty good actually) but give them a good run at it. Not like we have blokes in the twos banging the door down. Agree with others that Ryan is struggling with the pace - can definitely kick so we must persist.

So who do you want in then?

Why can't Lee Spurr be dropped? He's playing awfully bad.

What exactly are we losing by moving him out?
Experience? It's not doing him or us any good.

Sheridan is first to go.
Spurr next.
Kersten next.

Fyfe
Sandi
Langdon?
Hughes
Taberner? Maybe

With Spurr, I am sure the leadership factor plays a huge role. I suspect that they think the onfield direction etc outweighs his individual performance. Quite possibly is true too - really hard to quantify as a supporter watching on TV. I actually didn't think he had been that bad this season. Also no way that Kersten played better than him today.

I have never seen Nyhuis play but between the reports on here and his stats according to WAFL he probably deserves a gig soon. Just don't think (for right or wrong) he is getting it at Spurr's expense.

Cam Mac and Kersten become too comfy with the knowledge that currently nobody is capable of replacing them .bring back Ross pressure style with grey and deluca combo

In terms of team development he is a good choice. Taberner as well, because he is in line for delisting but playing in the role we have the biggest need.
I actually think tab deserve all the remaining AfL game to prove himself. TBH I will not be surprised Tab ,Collins ,nyhuis and uebergang all let go end of the season , Ross did it once with vandeluer , wood,Ballard , moeller and Duffy.
