Kerridge has also never displayed more than short patches of dominance in the SANFL. He's had a good taste of AFL footy this year, and shown some great signs. He's absolutely stunk these last two weeks. Close to worst on ground two games in a row. I'm happy for him to get a rest, build on what he's learned, and come back into the side as a better, more confident player. So yes, I have no problem with him being dropped.

I shouldn't have to clarify pretty basic points like that, and THAT is why I said your comprehension skills are horrible.

Who else was surprised that Kerridge couldn't repeat his stellar performance against North Melbourne in his next two games? Not me. He's 19.

This kid won an AFL match off his own boot in just his 7th game of senior footy, about 18 days ago.

And you're concerned about only short patches of dominance in the SANFL?

Your points aren't basic, they're ridiculous. That's why they need clarifying.

Why don't we make players like Johncock or Tambling the travelling emergencies?

For the kids who need game time it's a terrible position. How often do they actually come in? And not as the sub? One out of ten?

No, they're very basic. I don't mind if you disagree with my position. I'd appreciate it, however, if you took the half second, or, in your case probably longer I'm afraid, it should take to comprehend them.

It's actually very smart, Lyons rest with the bye the following week is going to do him wonders. He will be all refreshed, we should send him to a day spa.

So Lyons was dropped and not rested last week? Surprise surprise. So much for being back in a couple of weeks.

Why does Harper come on and talk absolute crap? Does he take us for fools? Well some on here buy his bullshit so I guess he does have an audience.

The entire administration does. So that's a yes.

terrible last few weeks at the selection table. dont know how else to describe it.

Lyons - rested, thats ok. (i didnt think he needed it but if thats how they want to manage the younger players then fine) but now to not be back again is disgraceful unless he's still sore. now if he plays for the bays this week i'll be pretty angry at his treatment. if he doesnt, then he'll have missed 3 weeks in a row (bye next round) and i'm prety sure will have to play for the bays and earn his spot back. either way, i dont like it.

Kerridge - is he being rested too or is he dropped for form? i'm fine if he has a rest, it's been his first run of games at the level and he has struggled since the kangas game. he, like Lyons needs to come back in as soon as he's recovered. he shouldnt have to find form in the SANFL again either.

Crouch - i thought he came back last week after just an ok run of SANFL form. a showing of good faith to our talented youngsters. however, he wasnt sparkling in the SANFL, we shouldnt expect him to then dominate against the swans. and he wasnt alone last week in being poor.

Porps - should have been out long ago. he's had way too many chances now.

Mackay - see porps. hasnt performed well enough for an automatic inclusion.

Brown - pleased he's back

Reilly - Pleased he's out, but it too has been too long

All in all, it's ben a poor run of weeks at the selection table IMO.

No Lyons? Typical, dour, "minimal risk" selections/non-selections again.

FFS that is an ordinary forwardline in terms of defensive pressure. In today's footy you can't afford to carry two small forwards who can't stick a tackle or chase hard. Porps/Callinan are just far too slow. Richmond's defenders and mids will have a field day.

The Callinan experiment surely has to end soon... we need to move on and use positions in the forward line like his to improve our midfield depth by playing blokes like Lyons.

Can you please repeat that? I'm busy watching all the highlights of Simon Goodwin and Tyson Edwards' extended periods of dominance in the SANFL.

Pretty sure Lyons/Crouch can play in the SANFL next week if they don't play.

But Lyons not coming in is a joke. Kerridge is actually being rested this week, so understandable. Crouch was bad last week. But so were 90% of the team. Easy option to drop though  Porps needs to play a full game this week, and play it well. Surely, SURELY, this is his last chance. I only like Jaensch in if he plays forward.

~sigh~

Where's Lyons? I spent all last year talking him up and he didn't get picked, then he gets picked and does well, then he's rested, we play like crap, and he doesn't come back in??

I'm tipping Richmond.

Amuses me that people want to trade our depth players that have no currency, but if they get a game and increase their currency they whinge.

If we dropped all the out of form senior players we'd be walloped worse than last week. No youngsters would develop .

I'd rather us rotate than play them til they run out of steam. That works well for ever club that tries it.

Mackay is being traded out by some posters but for this to happen we can't drop him in the 2nd half of the season.

Conflicting needs at work.

And on top of that the coach can't have too many losses or he won't meet KPIs.

Would love to be a fly on the wall at selection committee... it reeks of group think.

I can only assume it goes collectively something like this:

"Porplyzia only playing well as sub? That's ok! Pick him in the starting 18 for the umpteenth time this year! Callinan too slow/small and cant tackle? But he can kick the footy IF he gets it, SO HE'S IN! Lyons: one of our best contested ball winners when we've played him? No thanks... our midfield is playing so well! We dont need more ball winners. Mackay? SURE! I love an outside player who can barely get 15-20 touches a week"
