Happy Crouch got dropped, put in a half arsed effort last week and rarely chased, hopefully he takes it on the chin and performs in the twos.

Still very disappointed to see Henderson getting a game ahead of people who are genuine footballers, it is about time he repays the Crows with a decent game of football but I just don't see it happening; he's been found out at AFL level.
Yeah I must admit I'm surprised Hendo survived, he was awful last week. Maybe will start as the sub? Wouldn't be happy if Wright is given it again.

You don't want to jump at shadows, but given the quality players who have walked out on us it is easy to do.

What would Lyons be thinking at the moment about his long and short term future at the club? The worst midfield smashing I've ever seen and he still doesn't come back in. If he's not coming in this week it is hard to see him coming in any other time this season.

I asked this question during the Gunston/Davis sagas - mentally, when did they make the decision to leave the Crows? It doesn't happen in a neat little time frame at the end of the season.

I reckon ultimately you make a decision to leave if you feel that the treatment you receive is unfair and this feeling is ongoing in nature. If you look around the competition and see worse players getting regular games then it is very hard to feel loyalty to a club that hasn't shown faith in you.

Now, I know that's pretty wishy washy. There are probably 35 players at the Crows who think they should be playing this week. But the difference is that Lyons, Gunston, Davis... will have suitors. They will have options. If Tambling is getting pissed off, who cares? It doesn't make any difference.

Obviously you can't just pick players to keep them happy but when push comes to shove and you have a choice to make, surely you piss off the players that you can afford to lose?

I just do not understand why we wouldn't be picking him. Our clearance work has been average this season. Thompson is starting to look his age. Dangerfield is struggling to fill all the roles we need him in.

I can understand Kerridge going out. He's had a run of games and will hopefully get another look later in the season. But Lyons is a year older, his SANFL footy has been outstanding, his AFL form encouraging and he plays in a position where we need a boost.

Is Lyons contracted for next year? Even if he was, he'd have to be looking at other clubs. Plus he'd have a family in his ear the whole time telling him how Craig/Sanderson is an idiot and why on earth aren't they playing you and is a trade home a chance.

Getting an all too familiar feeling about this.

And Crouch? Geez. Played last week as though he hadn't played a game of AFL footy in 7 weeks. Was terrible early, got a bit better as it went on. Better for the run surely. But dropped straight away. Ridiculous stuff. There were a string of awful performances last week.

And who replaced him? Mackay, Jaensch or Wright? It's not as though they were absolutely belting the door down with exemplary performances for weeks on end.

Great post - except reading it made me rage.

We're playing Danger forward a lot.
Thommo is down on form and probably injured.

So the young gun we have who can play that role doesn't get selected, and we drop the other young gun inside mid?

Kerridge has had a better 3 weeks then VB.

Otten will be a liability in the wet.

Porps looks woeful.

Hendo was meh.

Sando is playing favourites.

Oh no, he doesn't follow BF group think!

Yeah he follows AFC group think:rolleyes:

I'm unhappy with the selections and I'm allowed to be I was asking mattrox if he agreed to the changes as he only commented on everyone else not being happy.

IMO I can't see how anyone can be happy Lyons is out. Last week it was all ok cause it was just a rest and Crouch is 20 times the player Lyons will ever be. This week he doesn't come in after a rest and the player that replaced him is also an out.

Baffaling.

And I have said before how is Lyons going to work on his deficiencies? He won't have played any football in two weeks unless we pull a swifty on Sat.

so someone says lyons is contracted next year, someone said he's going to ask for a trade... i really have no idea who to believe or what he's going to do.

if he or kerridge leave.... i'll be just about ready to give up. i love the club to death but there's something seriously wrong with the club with good players not getting consistent games and then wanting out.

Heard lyons is pissed with non selection most of the season

Just got a feeling hawthorn may come knocking soon
Perfect replacement for mitchell long term

i've 'heard' lots of stuff on here and about 1% is correct.
is this just a rumour or is it legit?

Lyons could go a month without playing a game.

He missed last week for a rest, by all accounts isn't going to play this week, the crows have the bye next week and the Bays have the bye the week after.

If he doesn't play next week for the Bays, I can not see him getting an AFL game the week after. Meaning the next tine he pays will be the 5th of July.

Good to see we are not stuffing this kid around.
He's playing for the Bays next week. If you had bothered to read the selection article on the club website, Sando said precisely that. Good rant though.

Contracted players can still request trades.

It does, can you quote that?

Exactly. Hearing that Sando does have favourites at the club and he seems to be playing them. Very concerning.

Really hope you're getting some bad info. An essendon poster who knows him posted a few weeks ago that he loves the club and city.

It would be kind of amusing to see him go though. Just to see how many of the unwashed masses boo him.
He's does like it here, it's why he's contracted for another season after this one. Plenty of other younger players have had tough luck stories, his case isn't unique. My only criticism of his game would be his uncontested play, and maybe that's what the coaches are looking for him to improve before becoming a permanent fixture in our side. Our midfield won the clearances, disposals and contested ball without him last week, and we still got pumped. I think he'll be a long term player for us, and will become an important feature of our side when Thommo retires.

i understand that. and they can get denied (probably a bad idea though).
it's just that all these 'rumours' are like the 3453245234 trade rumours we hear on here and most of them are just made by attention seeking little twaddles who want to appear they are 'in the know'

if he was part of a trade for polec i could be more forgiving. but if we just get a freaking 3rd round pick... i'll be turded.

It's not in the article Lyons isn't mentioned by Sando that was in the SANFL wrap.

Why didn't he play on Monday?
They didn't want him having a 5 day break if selected for the Crows this week, same with Wright. I'm surprised by his non selection though. I think Porps has Lyons spot atm, and he played well as the sub last week so survives. I don't agree with it, but that's just my opinion, the coaches have a better idea about their respective form and value to the side than I do.

Just Hendo?

How about Porps?

How about playing VB in a set role that he's comfortable in?

How about playing Lyons, who has chopped the SANFL for 2 years now?

The selections (pre game and selections where to play them on the field) has been nothing short of a shemozzle this year. If shit don't change after the bye, i feel there may be some major backlash from fans. Crowds will get smaller as our year peters out to nothing but a soft fizzle

I nearly feel like tweeting Sando and asking #wheresLyons? or #dropPorps

#whydontyouputplayersintheirbestposition?

But don't want to come across as a smart arse

But something sure stinks right now at West Lakes

Thats just the biggest load of bollocks ever.
