If Bucks is true to his word re performance, then Varcoe is out. He stunk. A lot.
Phillips also stunk, nearly 30 disposals and butchered at least 20 of them. Though, at this time of the year, a lot of players will be sorry and sore for the best part of the week.... Phillips, with his elite fitness will bounce back hard and probably atone for Friday’s shitfest.
We need tough, hard bodies vs the Tigers.
In: Greenwood, Sier/Wills
Out: Varcoe, Brown.
I wouldn't drop Varcoe, he made position a number of times and was ignored. Especially when we kicked out after a point. Was on his own a number of times in the centre, flapping his arms and they kicked short.

I don't think we used the space in kick outs very well at all.

Think we need some grunt and to bring the manic pressure.

I’d bring in greenwood or Sier

And what do you propose when Steele and Treloar put up a similar performance again, because they weren't much better than Phillips yesterday? Or do we only "send a message" by dropping the whipping boys who aren't on big coin?

Treloar was BOG according to the HS match report.... go figure.

Agree, Aish is a whipping boy there were plenty worse

Sure looks like it now.

IF we lose his 1st Bagged and seems his fault we lose.

where quite a Few worse then him Friday night

We want players to have to earn games and fight for their spots. Sier has not done that and should be in the Magoos until he earns his place back.

Then be No changes on what I read about the VFL practise game

Jeesus Dave! You wouldn't be panicking or anything like that! Your 3 ins seem to have done nothing at VFL level to deserve a game, while only one of your 3 outs, Thomas, makes any sense at all. o_O:eek: Sure Crisp sprayed the ball and Howe didn't have a great game, but both will be better for the run, or at least you'd hope they would be.

I was taking this Piss on some stupid posts though the 3 I have out where Poor Friday Night

Changes:
Out - Mayne. Crisp takes his role. Faster, more aggressive, takes the game on, penetrating kick, can goal outside 50.
Howe moves into Crisp’s role where he can intercept further up the ground, kicks better when on the move.
Out - Brown. In - Greenwood. Tough and Unsociable. Can cover for someone like Beams if necessary and OK forward.
Switch: Varcoe to back flank. Will Provide great pressure and give us some run and elite delivery while Quaynor learns his trade. Elliott and Stephenson adequately cover his forward pressure and will kick more goals.
Change: Thomas needs midfield time to play at his best. Great off the ground, tough and loses his man when going forward. Suffered when Sier took his midfield time and now Beams. Needs to share mid/fwd time with Adams when he’s back.

Woops one short for the Ins in my previous post. Maybe Goldsack takes Howes role deep and gives us some more grunt and pace.

Out: Callum
In: Sier

Although its worth noting that Boyd, (who coached yesterday) when interviewed after the VFL practice game loss said that Appleby, Wills and a few VFL listed lads were the best players, no mention of Sier.

Well, I think proven stars who have a record of delivering match-winning performances will naturally have more credits in the bank and earned the right to retain their spots for longer but, eventually, they too must face the axe if not delivering. But Phillips isn't in that category. Nor is Aish, Brown, Sier, Mayne and a few others. To retain their spots, those players must maintain very high standards or at least demonstrate that they are on a path of rapid development.

Anyway, its all a bit academic because Phillips seems to be a selectors' favorite and thus unlikely to be dropped. I guess they must place a lot of importance on 2km time trials.

Out: Brown & Aish
In: Sier & Greenwood

Horses for courses with Greenwood. I don't think he is a best 22 every week, but could have a role this week. Got under Martin's skin last year, maybe give him another go at him.
Sier is obvious, I think he is in the best 22 until he proves he isn't.

By the way, when is Taylor Adam's back? I seen it's listed as 3 weeks still. Is that still an accurate ETA? I can't wait to have him back, he was missed on Friday night.
