Josh played with 2 locked in defenders injured. You can’t seriously have forgotten that?

I know. But the club was on record as saying they were managing him prior to bringing him in. So he played that game before they felt he was ready due to injury. I don’t expect they were planning for him to be back in the mix until the bye.
History of injuries. A bad hammy- missed about 8-9 weeks. A bit like Pedlar with the baby steps

Eagles to get Shuey and Darling back for this match.

Is it a bit sad that I'm actually nervous about potentially losing 😆
Have you been watching the eagles this year. We are almost unbeatable against anyone at home. Away is a completely different story for whatever reason. That's what makes our away record so frustrating.

Main reason is that he does offer something now, as he's shown a few times this year. Was very important to some of our wins, particularly against Port and Hawthorn. Does seem like his workload needs to be managed though, so it makes sense to manage it.

Two contributions in half a season really isn't a lot

overstating it somewhat. We've lost twice already at home.

What's really sad is wasting a home game against them when they're one side we could easily beat away.
I'm not sure I'd take an even money bet on us beating them away in R24. I suspect they will be much better by then and our dream of finals will have evaporated leaving our guys with D'gass - Don't Give A Shit Syndrome.

Darling? Where did you read that? I don't think he was expected back before the bye and nothing on the Eagles board about it.

We beat them there last year late in the season when the Eagles had everything to play for and were a better team. I am sure they will have a few of their better players back by then, but the Eagles also have nothing to play for by that point. I think people still associate the Eagles with being a reliable team that win consistently at home, but that hasn't been the case since mid 2021.

Eagles a better team last year?
8 wins vs 2 says otherwise.
Edit, realized you were comparing 23 them to 2022 them.

Maybe he meant Duggan...

EDIT - I don't know what Schmooky was thinking when he wrote this, the Eagles withdrew Duggan's appeal after illness ruled him out of this weekend's game...

The Eagles are sliding back to the point where they are selecting from the bare minimum of players after injuries to Tom Barrass (hip), Elijah Hewett (concussion), Shannon Hurn (hamstring) and Connor West (knee). Liam Duggan (suspension) will be available against Adelaide, while there is doubt over ruckman Callum Jamieson. Captain Luke Shuey is pushing to return from ankle and hamstring injuries and is tipped to play, while Greg Clark can be elevated from substitute duties. Midfielder Luke Edwards is due to come out of concussion protocols and be available, and Samo Petrevski-Seton should be cleared of a quad injury. Zane Trew (14 disposals in the WAFL) and Campbell Chesser (19) may be required, despite the club wanting to allow the latter a block of WAFL games to build form. – Nathan Schmook

We did our level best to lose it. 2 points down at half time, only the 3rd qtr was anything convincing. They were up for JK's farewell and I thought for a while his 8 goals was going to get them over the line.

The worst game I think I watched. We tried to lose it.

From yesterday's "West Australian"

Luke Edwards (concussion) and Samo Petrevski-Seton (quad) are also pushing for selection again.

Darling and Jeremy McGovern are unlikely to be available until after the mid-season bye.

The Eagles will be without Elijah Hewett (concussion), Shannon Hurn (hamstring) and Connor West (knee). Tom Barrass needs to prove his fitness after withdrawing from the loss to Collingwood with a hip flexor injury and Liam Duggan needs to win his case at the tribunal on Tuesday night to be available for selection.

With their current list of outs, it really should be a big win.

If Tex gets a bag of 10 in his 250th, he matches Jeremy Cameron on top of the Coleman count.

And if he gets 5 goals, he will sit equal 45th with Cameron for all time goals kicked.

Has anyone ever got 10 goals on Tom Barrass, if he plays nobody usually gets a bag on him no matter how bad they're going? Surely he'd go to Tex?

Sloane should be rested this week. Doedee is out and Worrell should now be a lock in the side. Then maybe give Butts a spell and maybe Soligo a spell (for a week to rest).

Would not be averse to looking at then bringing in Borlase, Nankervis and Hately as replacements in this week to have a look at how the first 2 step up and to see if Hately can grab his chance on ball.

It was the same in our game against them at AO last year where after our 5 goal to 0 first quarter we both scored 8.8, so basically drew with them for 3 of the 4 quarters. Couldn't understand why so many people were happy after that game, a team that had lost their last 7 games by a combined 555 points at that point and we ran neck to neck with them for the majority of the game at home.

Perfect game to rest Sloan, but given the occasion they won't.
