Well if he’s puffed you don’t play him just because he gets a week off the week after.Yes, it's Tex's 250th - but we also have a bye the following week, so there's really no need to give him 2 consecutive weeks off.
Sub then.Perfect game to rest Sloan, but given the occasion they won't.

Because he has the worst kick on the team. Every time he gets possession, I just hope he handpasses it to someone that can kick. Why not, his Centre clearances numbers last year when played in there in games were pretty impressive.
If we're moving Sloane out it's fine, but it's another sign of going back to a limited midfield that doesn't have any scope for growth if Laird, Keays and Sloane take the lions share of midfield minutes. Why not, his Centre clearances numbers last year when played in there in games were pretty impressive.
They are wrong, he isn't back this week (unless they get so desperate that they rush back players).AFL site
It's absolutely out of desperation, I saw Simpson say that Jamieson is sore and may miss too. I don't think they even have more than 26 available at this point!Adam Simpson said Harry Barnett in their 26 currently. Probably more out of desperation than form at this point.
The occasion sometimes means more than the game and this week is an example of that. Tex would want his best mate out there in a major milestone game.Perfect game to rest Sloan, but given the occasion they won't.

Don't disagree with that, but he's certainly not getting the rest this week given the milestone and we have the bye as well. I will be interested to see whether he has only been getting increased CBAs to help manage Rachele/Pedlar/Soligo and they revert back to our setups from the first 7-8 rounds over coming weeks.Fair - but its not like it snuck up on us.
Sloane could/should have been rested against Geelong/Bulldogs/Suns.

Nah, North game is where I see the rest.I can see their reasoning already
Collingwood at the MCG - We need the seniors in there to take it to the Pies on the big stage
North Melbourne at home - This is winnable at home, need the seniors in there to get us the W.
Essendon at Etihad - Win this and we're taking a scalp of a team near us on the ladder, seniors need to lead the way
And it'll just flow on from there.

Yep, and then the usual posters will pick on Soligo, Rachele, etc when they are stuck in the forward line and only rack up modest stats.I can see their reasoning already

I think we're also playing the Eagles in the curtain raiser for the SANFL, so that could be fun to watch. No offense to the horrific injury quagmire that our bird brothers West Coast are in, but is anyone else struggling to give a single s**t about this game. Putting aside the milestone, that isn't even 300 games, I am not really interested in watching the Crows downhill ski in a back slapping romp papering over crevices.
And then one of these promising youngsters will leave because they are offered peanuts because we're offering a contract to Mr Better Husband.Yep, and then the usual posters will pick on Soligo, Rachele, etc when they are stuck in the forward line and only rack up modest stats.
This is Thommo circa 2016 all over again.

Problem with that is that any or all of them have blinders, it would be against poor opposition and prove **** all.Sloane should be rested this week. Doedee is out and Worrell should now be a lock in the side. Then maybe give Butts a spell and maybe Soligo a spell (for a week to rest).
Would not be averse to looking at then bringing in Borlase, Nankervis and Hately as replacements in this week to have a look at how the first 2 step up and to see if Hately can grab his chance on ball.
