A nice sentiment but the same could he said for Ned. The problem is not in the effort for players like them, it is in ability. Keays is a liability by foot.

Fair point about effort/ Ned/ Keays' non-right foot .

I should have said that Ben would give it 100% effort and would have some impact that helps the team. Ned tries hard, but doesn't have Keays' tank, or impact.
It's indisputable that Keays was one of our best-3 last week, if not our best.
From memory, he did a good job on Saad, Daicos, Rowell while being a valuable connector and sometime-goalkicker (but gee I wish he'd snap more goals <<slaps forehead>> ).

Imagine if Keays had Pedlar's nous/composure/creativity with a useful R-foot kick as well!

I have absolutely no problem with Keays in the midfield. he just should never ever start in the centre at the same time as Sloane and Laird.
it is the same problem when we played Sloane, Laird and Crouch in the middle.

We need to get McAdam in and getting up to speed. This is the perfect opportunity. He's easily best 22 and has equally the most x-factor of any player on our list. He'd be a far bigger headache to the opposition than Murphy, even though I love aspects of Murphs' game.

McAdam would probably not be AFL-match fit, but this would be a good game to prep him for a red-hot go after the Bye, for the rest of the season.

Really don’t get the plan for Berry . He was an important part of our future last year and now languishing in the 2s. I get his form is not great but surely we need to develop him in the firsts to get games into him ! Currently he’s stagnating

I don't think he's languishing, I think he's fighting to find his best footy, which is a work in progress this year for Sam.

I'm really not worried about him TBH. He doesn't seem like the precious type, just a bit out of touch in a team that's outperformed expectations. Its a good problem IMO!

Not sure I really understand the logic behind the idea that players can't develop in the twos. If someone was going to be a strong contributor at AFL level they would be a strong contributor in the SANFL. If they can't get their hands on the ball at the lower level, or aren't having an impact when they get it, they've got plenty of development they can do in the SANFL. Obviously if a player is dominating the SANFL and can't get a shot in the seniors that's another story, but Berry isn't really having that sort of impact from what I've seen.

I hope Berry gets out of his funk but I saw him at Glenelg last week and he was terrible and some of his kicking was Keays like
I think the year has almost been a complete write off for him, it will be interesting to see what he does next year

We also said it about Fogarty and Jones... I even said it about Milera about a month ago. Everyone's different.

For the record I haven't written off Schoenberg yet either. There's a football player in there somewhere.

Hasn't Berry always had average to below average kicking disposal? He's also never been great up forward either, which was his role when he was in the side: MID/FWD. Crows need to stop recruiting these ball magnets and start recruiting midfielders you can kick.

Isn't the problem that the game is called Football, not GETball?

I can't see any point recruiting ball-magnets if they can't kick the ball to the real advantage of their team/teammates.
