Why Parnell?
This question wasn’t asked of me, but geez it would be nice if we had some smalls to pick up some crumbs in defence after it comes to ground. The number of times it came to ground tonight and GC forwards grabbed the loose ball was puke-inducing.

Is Parnell the answer? Maybe not, but I’d be trusting Murray to take O Allen, with Worrell to take the 2nd tallest forward (who even knows who that will be on that injury-ravaged mess of a playing list), and Hinge on the 3rd.

Butts gets squeezed out for mine, with Worrell and another small or medium player coming in due to the Doedee injury. I’d play Cook ahead of Parnell, but I can see the argument.

Losing tonight basically confirms no finals.
Let's get games into players who might be good enough and forget picking those who won't be there when it matter.
Huh? We're 9th on percentage with one of the easiest draws. Finals is around 50/50 I'd say - easy path to 12 wins by beating North, West Coast, and home games against GWS, Sydney and Gold Coast. 13th win is tricker, and obviously we can't drop those easier home games. But the season is far from over and personally I think it would be good to get a little bit of finals experience into the group, given basically nobody under 28 has played finals.

Besides, we are already playing predominantly young players.

He gets a bit emotional
Many on this board do, including myself

I don’t think we’re out of the finals race, but this makes it a lot tougher. That said, I don’t think we need to make finals this year to show we’re making progress, a flag window in 2025-26 should be ideal

We have the potential there to win theses games which is the disappointing thing and that makes me think we are a bottom eight side with what’s at our disposal

I don’t think we’re bottom 8. I still can’t really tell where we’re at within the 7-10 race, gut feel says we’re in the lower half but there’s still half a season to go

I agree that GWS, Collingwood and this game were all winnable given certain circumstances, and we blew all of them. That said, a bit of luck went our way in the Hawks and Lions wins too, so it probably evens out

My bad meant bottom top eight

Drop ******* Sloane.

How's Berry going to play no games in a year while this guy gets 15 touches on the regular?

Every ******* time we get a sniff of finals.
Sloane bought a lot of credits the last quarter against the Lions last week... and burnt all of them all this week.

He's due to be "managed" sometime soon, and this is a good week to do it.

Hell, it's West Coast, the same bunch who got destroyed in Tassie a couple of weeks ago. If we were taking it seriously we'd look at what our Neighbors did to the Hawks and aim higher to win by about 20 goals, but...

I reckon we just sub in the whole SANFL squad for the day, our seniors can take the week off and we make it entertaining.

Berry has been awful. There's not a lot in the SANFL as far as mids go and that's why we need to start looking around the league or draft one. Schoenberg is probably the best of a bad bunch. Agree Sloane needs a spell. I hope they retire him this year and we don't have sit through 23 rounds of today's performance next year.

They aren’t dropping Sloane for Tex’s 250th
We have missed so many opportunities to rest him already, he should have been rested either this week, the Ballarat game or the game in Geelong. Now we basically don't leave Adelaide or Melbourne for the rest of the year except for a trip to Brisbane in round 22. They should have picked one of the ugly regional games.

The best option now is the Magpies game after the bye so he gets a couple of weeks off to freshen up before the run home.

Had to have been this week. Keeps Worrell in the side.

Agreed, he should have stayed in Adelaide this week would have been the perfect opportunity.

Part of me thinks we didn't want to do that as he would still be one of our most recognisable and popular players with the public. So a trip like this to Darwin would be one where we would be spending a fair bit of time with supporters. I'd say both Sloane and the club would have wanted him up there for the good PR. Where as majority of the general public wouldn't care if they didn't meet Worrell.

Nah, that’s the same as saying Worrell missed due to cramps.

He played because Nicks couldn’t play without Sloane.

We are ninth on percentage with a much easier run home .

Sloane shouldn't hold credits for his last quarter ladt week, they were all used up covering up his totally crap first 3 quarters.
