I would drop RoB.

Get Thilthorpe to Ruck most of the game.

Bring in Strachan, as sub.

Ruck Thilthorpe full game till 3/4 time. Strachan come on late as a fresh option.

Give Thilthorpe a taste of leading the Ruck. He has already started a game in Ruck. Thilthorpe is our next lead Ruckman.

Bring in Gollant and Worrell. These two should be playing every game anyway.

Doedee obvious out.

Sog needs a break. Bring Parnell back. Push Jones up the ground a bit. He has been playing defensive wing/HB the last few weeks. Better suited as an attacking wing.

Need to look at Jones and Milera in the middle, I'll keep saying it til it happens
Definitely worth a try, especially Milera with his evasive skills. My changes this week would be McHenry out, Sholl to sub, Worrell in for Doedee, Parnell or Cook into the 22 (Parnell has looked pretty good in most senior games he's played). Pedlar has to get more CBA's, with Sloane playing HFF predominantly or on the bench for most of the first half. RoB lucky to stay in...if it wasn't for the bye the next week, I'd have dropped him for Strachan.

Strauchan is horrible

Waste of time

If we don’t rate ROB we need to recruit a ruck and delist Strachan
If we rate ROB, we need new coaches...

Strachan might not be good, but we know ROB can't be part of a successful finals push. So why not at least expose Strachan to see what he can do? He's yet to be given a clear run at it.

It really is a huge failing of our recruiting that we have ZERO developing rucks. We must be the only team in the comp that haven't bothered with this part of the field for a decade.

You want a slow ruckman as the sub. Yeh ok...

Strongly agree with the last bit , it’s time

Yeah not ideal. Trying to avoid Hberg. As you said, we have no development Rucks on our list. Basically wasting two list spots with Hbetg and Strachan.

Or just have Thilthorpe all game. Tex up forward and Murray Ruck defensively.

I think Thilthorpe is ready to take on Ruck. He may not dominate raw taps like RoB, but he adds more being the tall mid.

RoB gets involved in a lot of link play, plus defensive marking.

Thilthorpe is a much better option in these roles. A great mark of the ball and midfielder ball skills.

Thilthorpe as the lead ruck would get absolutely pumped. I mean we could get away with it against the Eagles probably, but why? Totally unnecessary change, Thilthorpe should be splitting time between up forward and relief ruckwork, he's not particularly good as a ruckman and is a big threat in the forward line.

Did you watch the SANFL last weekend?

That was probably the worst game Parnell has played at either level for us, kicking was woeful.

Berry simply can't be considered if current form is the consideration unfortunately.

If ROB's not the answer then one things for sure Strachan is most certainly not the answer.

Not having a developing young ruck coming through is list management's biggest failing in more recent times IMO.

Even Himmelberg mostly beats up on the SANFL rucks when he relieves Strachan at that level. Watch the Berg's rucking on the weekend to see for yourself.

This is a big issue. Happy to have "break glass in case of emergency" guys like Berg and Strachan, but once they cut list sizes down this was the big area we ditched all development on. We tried plenty of development bigs in the past, especially with the Cat B guys like Ben Dowdell, Tim Klaoson and Jack Osborn, but once they didn't work out it felt like we abandoned the concept entirely.

ROB has 2 more years left on his deal, absolutely imperative they get some guys in now who may take those 2 years to develop physically so we're not left with our only option being extending ROB again.

Joe Pike specifically isn't going to take 2 years to develop physically...will be watching him closely when Vic Country enter the Nationals.

Edit

203cm 103kegs already and quite athletic for a big bruiser, definitely not the hulking type.

Out: Doedee (inj), Sloane (managed), ROB (that was a completely unacceptable performance and a message needs to be sent), Sholl

In: Worrell, Schoenberg, Strachan, Nankervis (time to see if he has it)
LOL

Witts vs the current WCE rucks minus Nic Nat....yeah that's a fair comparison.

Witts probably gone past Gawn as the best ruck in the AFL currently.

We should select people based upon whether they can pass the lowest bar possible
