He didn’t do bugger all. Had 19 touches, which was 5th most disposals, playing higher up the ground. Also had 7 inside 50’s.
Will do his confidence a world of good which is what he was lacking.
Bench will be: Lipinkski, McLean, Dale, Schache.
Dickson will travel as the emergency.
West will debut in Melbourne against Carlton after the bye, all going well.

I like Gowers back as third target. More chance of that working than what we had in his last couple of senior games.

Even if Gowers didn't blow us away in the VFL, not having that extra target really did hurt last week. I see him as the Robin to Naughton's Batman, where he may not the the greatest or flashiest player, but Naughton really does struggle without Gowers' presence. Would do good for the team structure having him back in, especially since Wallis is out. We'd be stuffed for forward targets if all we had was Naughton and a debuting Gardner

West's on the VFL list and the extended AFL bench. Not his week I don't think but probably soon.

Sunday teams extended bench are always named in the VFL sides as well until teams are confirmed, but yeah I agree it won’t be this week but every chance next week with another good game from him

I’m certain it’s the great Peter Gordon himself. Drip feeds us some good mail but doesn’t do too much to blow his cover.
I doubt West would be an in, if he was there'd be a video on the club web site showing him being presented with his jumper, given who his father is I'm sure when he does get selected it will be big news.

What makes this decision even more confusing is that Bevo talks him up by stating he is a very good footballer and will play a lot of good footy with the Doggies....then a VFL player just drafted leap frogs him
