Here's an idea: lets bring mid-season draft rookie Gardner straight into the senior AFL team. A bit far fetched I know but at the moment we are stuck for a bit of inspiration, so why not?

Got to disagree on Roberts. In the Brisbane game he played a lot on Hipwood. If he had of kicked straight rather than 5 behinds it would have been an ugly game for Roberts.

He has had multiple games in the last few years but just isn’t up to it. That Geelong game was the final straw

Hamling was on Geelong's list for 3 years without a senior game. Gardener the same. Not saying it will turn out the same, but a good move to debut him this week. Got nothing to lose in Perth, everyone expects a loss. We get to see a new player, lets see what he has to offer. Reckon West will debut shortly, too.

A few weeks ago I saw both Gardner and Lew Young play down at Casey Fields. Gardner did a few nice things but Young just looked so much better particularly as a mobile ruck. Not saying Young could replicate this role at AFL level but I'm perplexed that Gardner has been chosen ahead of him. Anyway, good luck to him, hope he brings needed marking and mobility. Unless the selectors go off script and bring in both talls, it looks as if Young will have to stay in the queue for a bit longer.

Stay in the queue or play as a second ruck lol? Really don’t understand why he’s playing second ruck in the VFL if we’re grooming him to be a key back. Unless we just don’t have any other rucks?
