It doesn't matter who we select, I expect Macrae to play more midfield this week. It's where he plays his best football and your midfield brigade are renowned for having an excellent capacity to cover ground. We'll need our best runners to match that.

For all the people saying what's Gardner done compared to so and so etc.

Remember he has been getting the bits and pieces roles for Footscray, especially when Bulldog listed players have came back into the Footscray side. I seen him live a few times now and what I like and I'm guessing the club like is he gives a committed effort in the air every time whether forward or back. Has a lot to work on yet will give a decent contest.

What have we got to lose, get him a chance and get behind him, he might just surprise a few of you.

Like most people l have tired of the versatility at all costs mantra.And the only
One that excels with it is Cordy.
So Richards back where he should be as a second year player.
English 2nd ruck forward makes sense.
No Barass you must go tall.Schache plays
Or you delist him.

In my opinion finals are not happening for us this year so all club decisions should be made with 2020 in mind. So if Richards stays in and Dickson does not get selected I am ok with that.

Agreed that the we need to have an eye on development for the future, but the best way to do that isn’t necessarily to play the kids and leave out the veterans.

Leadership from older players, earning your place and actually winning games are all important parts of development.

Richards deserves to be dropped and it’s in his best interest to have some time in the VFL where he can explore his role and skill set a bit more without any pressure.

So based on the Bevo Presser, looks like no Lewis Young, but Schache is in the mix, along with Tory. With at least two forced changes and Gardner already in, leaves at least one inclusion, plus any extras that might come about if anyone else is an out.

Was pretty cagey with where Gardner would play though, which was interesting. Suspect he goes forward and Trengove plays on Kennedy. English should go okay against Vardy in the ruck imo.

What is wrong with Trengove playing ruck and playing a kick behind the play and letting English do the rucking in the
forward half only thus avoiding the collision component of ruckwork. Lets English still ruck with the added bonus of
honing his forward craft and gives us a quasi-cox type weapon.
