Yeah but the bays could get beaten by south and if we win we’d jump to top of the ladder on percentage..

isnt coming top more advantageous than coming second in the sanfl?.. unlike it is in the AFL where first and second are really pretty much just the same?..
Yes you get a bye into the prelim. Didn't realise we could still get first.

out

rankine and hinge - hinge looked sore.. Rankine looked fine but was rushed back cause we thought we could make the finals.. why risk either of them for a dead rubber in Perth.. both in cotton wool till the preseason starts please.

sloane - permanently.. just fxxk off you useless geriatric fart.

in

nank for hinge
berry for sloane
Pedlar for rankine

dont care who is sub.. give it to parnell. He’s garbage (we dont want to weaken the sanfl side too much!)
Not calling for Cook this week?

Did you watch the SANFL this week?

Like I said.. dont want to weaken the sanfl side too much for a pointless dead rubber in Perth.

really dont want to see berry in either.. leave him in the sanfl where he’s needed

in fact.. make it

pedlar to the 22 in place of sloane

nank in for mcadam

parnell to sub.

that’ll do.. couldnt care less about the AFL game.. actually reckon we’ll lose.. WC have regained some very good players and some form in recent weeks. And they’ll have nothing to lose. They’ll want to win it for their retirees and their long suffering fans..

we’’ll be flat.

Yep. He didnt play.. 2nd game he’s missed in a month.. got a leg issue I believe.

if we had him and strawnie we wouldve won with ease..
So…. you watched the match but have not made a single comment about Cook’s 10 disposal masterclass. Last Thursday it was a crime against humanity not to select Cook, this week even you haven’t suggested it.

Are you admitting you were Wrrrrr……..ong Fonzie?

I guess it was a tough day for wingmen, that well known underperformed Lachie Sholl only had 29 disposals, 2 tackles and a goal compared the Brayden’s 11 disposals, 1 tackle and a goal.

Would you blame Matty if he did that after the way he's been arsed around the last 3 or 4 years by first his groin/hip issues treatment by our medicos and more recently by the selectors? Jacobs never got the same kind of treatment as that?
He was paid and supported by the club, first through injury and then through a period where zero other clubs wanted him.

We gave him games in the first 22 when his form was still terrible, playing backwards crab footy.

Honestly, he got more than he deserved, because the club felt loyalty to him and the playing group loved him.

Crouch has improved this year from last, but not by any spectacular amount. He was racking up similar numbers and playing mostly the same style last year. But the consensus was that the game had "passed him by".

3 rounds into this year Adelaide made a change in gameplay style and personnel to a combination that had not passed him by. It took 16 more games to select him.

Cook is a weird one. Looked good in the second half vs Melbourne at the MCG.

Looked average on a suburban mudheap that's not fit for amateur league football and is being ripped up as soon as this season finishes.

If we went by SANFL form we'd re-draft James Battersby and delist McAdam

I'd pick Cook despite his indifferent form but I don't expect us to and imagine we'll keep playing inside mids on the wings

Out Hinge (rest the knee): In Nankervis
Out Sloane (cooked): In Cook (Ironically not Cooked)
Out ROB (Can't mark to save himself): In Strachan
Out Murphy (Omitted): In Berry
Out Smith (Omitted): In Pedlar
Out Borlase (Omitted): In Dowling
Out McAdam (INJ): In Newchurch (just to see him play 1 time)
SUB: Gollant

Tex kicks 14 goals, we still lose by 2 points. Finish with pick 6

Unlike you.. I dont write off our young players when they have a quiet game.. quiet games are expected from young inexperienced players.. only a complete moron would write young players off when they have a quiet game..

And unlike you.. I come down hard on our senior players when they have sh*t/quiet games.. especially when they have many sh*t/quiet games in a season.. because thats not acceptable for senior, experienced players… only a moron would accept that..

Are you noticing any pattern emerge here Ciao?..

How's Strachan gonna go marking with a fooking great cast on his hand as of last week? Is it coming off for the Weagles game or is he going to wear an AFL compliant hand protector?

Or is an amazing recovery expected?
Didn't know he injured it TBH. Having said that he'd still probably clunk them better then ROB has been this last fortnight even if he amputated it!

Didnt realise he had a broken hand. He was down as a test last week so i thought he may be good to go this week. We will need him for SANFl finals so hope its not too bad.

Sounds like Yeo is going to be out with a hamstring
Some doubt over McGovern as well apparently - banged up, maybe a hamstring?
Shuey coming back from a hamstring?
Sounds like Oscar Allen is a bit banged up as well
Hurn coming back after an achilles injury

Edit: Yeo out for a game suspended anyway - accepted a 1 match ban for rough conduct

In a bit of a pickle now, losing takes away any leverage we’d have for finals compensation.
The best way to rub the AFL's nose in the putrid pile of poo dumped by the Keays "point" fiasco is to pick the strongest available side, play like their lives depend on it, thrash the WCE and boost our %.

That would tell the AFL we're the best side out of the 8, and only out of the 8 because of their stuff-up.

Lose this week and we cannot complain about missing the 8.

... what drive would the players have left in them after that umpiring shitshow that completely destroyed their season.
I'm upset, too. I'm angry about the GU error, too, but let's go back a week, just to see where Adelaide was, and why.
Adelaide were 12th with a W/L of 10/11 and 115.77%.
That particular shitshow (of having to win the last 2 games to make the 8) was because of poor goalkicking and losing winnable games, sometimes after being 4-to-6 goals ahead. The Crows' Final-8 chances were in their own hands earlier in 2023 and they made a mess of it (bewildering team selections, player errors etc).
In his presser, Dawson nailed it in classy style. If the Crows had won more games, the loss to Sydney would be of little consequence. Dawson's a man of healthy perspective.
The toll the events of Saturday would have taken on the playing group mentally simply cannot and should not be understated by the club and should be leveraged at the AFL HARD.
I'd prefer them to be devastated by the rubbish they put up against the Bulldogs in Ballarat, their capitulation to Richmond, and 5 losses by less than a goal when they had more scoring shots than their opponents.
That crappy GU error was a mistake beyond their control, which makes it feel like they were 'robbed'. But it's amplified by the results of the 21 games they had played previously.

Every one of those highly-paid players know that in the end every match is just a game of footy, and so should we. MANY games are decided by player-error and millimetres.

It's not the End of the World, as some people are painting it. It's not Life or Death.

You're upset. I'm upset, but we need to stay calm and be kinder to the poor bastard who made that mistake, who's become the most hated person currently in AFL footy, whose life will be tainted forever by the anger of people who forget that they make mistakes, too.

Why do people keep making this argument? The game against West Coast is now a dead rubber and matters not a single f&*$. The result has no bearing on whether we’d have made the 8 or not, and it’s not a question that can ever be answered after Saturday’s AFL-sanctioned debacle. We have nothing to play for (other than losing draft pick 6 and exchanging it for 9 if we win). Geelong have nothing to play for against the Bulldogs. Essendon have nothing to play for against Collingwood. There’s not an alternate universe where we beat the Swans and go into the West Coast game needing a win to make the 8 (barring the AFL suddenly deciding to replay our game against the Swans). Just this rubbish universe where a goal umpire behaved like a cocky twat and refused to send his blatantly wrong decision to the AFL review centre.

Whether we win or lose this week we can absolutely continue complaining about missing the 8. Dead-rubbers in footy are called that for a reason. They’re completely meaningless, and for the Crows this week that‘s a particularly galling thing to get their heads around, because their season should have been well and truly alive when they ran out against the Eagles.

Spot on. If the AFL seriously argue against any form of compensation based on the result against WC they’re more evil than we think. We should be arguing the point that our players’ drive and straight up mental well-being has been completely and utterly compromised due to this debacle
