Out : Fullerton, Sharp, May*
In: JVR or Johnson*, Melk or Laurie and Turner

*Johnson - prefer his work in the ruck and reckless abandon around the ground to give max a rest but JVR a better forward.
*May - looks like he needs a week off (won't happen) but long trip west. I really liked what I seen from Turner in a half back too.
*Melk as super sub but I really don't like him and Fritsch in together, too slow, so would rather Laurie. I would do Fritsch for Melk and Sharp for Laurie too. Even Brown for Tholstrup.

We are in no position for the ol' back to back wins make very little change shit. We should be rewarding consistent effort in VFL and dropping senior players who do dumb shit, play poorly or have been named Sub every damn game (Sharp).

Johnson, Henderson and Disco may not have the same quality of hair style as Fritsch, JVR and Melk, but at least they give it a red hot go.
When attacking the ball Johnson is unconcerned about any damage to his hair style.

Johnson - aerodynamically designed to hurt people

Yeah that last Q into this has my Dees trauma tingling.

26 point loss with us kicking ourselves out if it
I wouldn't read much into that last quarter, the game was over and the players weren't playing with with any intensity, and Goody doesn't like to have any fun. We may lose on the weekend but that's because we aren't a good side.

Out : May*
Interesting idea... imv Old McD is first picked for defence this year... ahead of both May and Lever.

In: Melk or Laurie and Turner
I would bring in Melk ahead of Fritta... Fritta isn't a must keep... as we try to bring our pressure on the footy.
Melk, with Langford, Tracca, Kozzy and Chinns is enough forward scoring ability.

*May - looks like he needs a week off (won't happen) but long trip west. I really liked what I seen from Turner in a half back too.
If May needs a rest... we should try Turner back with TMc and Howes as the 3rd tall.
I think it's time to see our future defenders all together.
Fb: Howes, TMc, Mcvee
Hb: Windsor, Turner, Lindsay.
Cl: Bowey to the wing, rolling back as sweeper. similar role with Langdon.
Hf: Langford starting on a forward flank, rolling thru the middle.

*Melk as super sub but I really don't like him and Fritsch in together, too slow, so would rather Laurie. I would do Fritsch for Melk :thumbsu:and Sharp for Laurie too. :thumbsu:Even Brown for Tholstrup.
I think Tholstrup is right at the breakthrough point. I think he needs a few games on the go to find the rhythm of AFL. dropping him might set his confidence back.

I agree GS.

Eagles had 'crisis meetings' with players, coaches and footy dept this week.

We are so losing this lmao
I saw a post that they had a meeting before the Essendon game? If they had another this week that's a bit of a worry for them. You can't be circling up every other week and expect a response.

Really struggling to muster up a lot of enthusiasm for this one.
The Richmond game was boring as ****.

The other thing about that shitty end to the game was if the club actually wants to make an unlikely finals run they need to claw back %, and that was a great opportunity to do so. Instead we shut up shop (Like we have since 2022 when in the lead and it always bites us on the arse).

You'd think we were top of the ladder doing that shit. When was the last time we played angry and really put a team to the sword?

The Lions/Saints game last week was shit but Fagan was pissed at his players the whole game after their previous performance and was pushing them to finish StKilda off all the way until the final siren.

Yeah, you can't say that Goody ever pushes the guys like that. Every ****ing time we get a big lead he parks the bus.

I think last week wa also about preserving Gawn and just ticking off the win. I wouldn’t be surprised if we’ve all but given up hope on finals and now it’s about getting our game right after the 0-5 start. If the wins keep coming the focus will no doubt shift.

In the modern era it's hard to dominate a team for 4 quarters but you could visibly see us switch off on the field for the last 10-15 minutes of that last quarter - taking May and Gawn off is fine as we probably need to manage them better - but the Hollywood footy being played by us was a terrible look. Dinky kicks, poor decisions, visibly looking to run the clock down with heaps of footy to play.

Like others have said, given we have a whole heap of % we need to make up, that last Q was trash

We're traveling pretty much every second week now for a couple of months, plus playing a fair few top teams in the same time, so hoping we have learned from the last few seasons about actually managing players.

No Oliver at training, and rumours are that he wasn't on the flight. Could be an interesting watch - would love to see our midfield mix without him tbh.

WCE by 35 points.

Shirley our coach wouldn't drop him?

West Coast will win with or without Clarry.

West Coast at Optus is a patented 2024-2025 type of loss. Go in as slight to moderate favourites against a rubbish team after a couple of wins, and well, you know the rest.

Interesting. A statement sounds more like mental wellbeing than having the flu.

Might be reading too much into it - but he did look quite downcast/spaced out in the behind the scenes footage the club released from the Tiges game

Pretty damn certain there is a lot of stuff going on here. God I hope he gets on top of it.
