No, you're right. Well, at least you might be if we had.

Watts was no where near our worst on the weekend. Also shocked that Blease gets dropped.

Sylvia and Byrnes should count themselves very lucky.

Thank Christ Gillies and Nicho got dropped.

I'm not shocked at all. He was terrible last weekend.

Maybe so, but 17 players were terrible last weekend. He was probably towards the worse end of the terrible scale, but we need him in the side. We need him confident and we need him fit. He's played one game coming off a 5 week lay off, should have been given another chance.

Allegedly Jack won't be playing for Casey - seems like he'll be the 'on site' emergency.
This baffles me if true. With every team selection my distrust in Mark Neeld grows, i really feel like he just doesn't know what he's doing. Dropping players like Blease every 3rd game, i just don't get it.

True, there were plenty who were not flash last weekend, but we can't drop them all. A comment like this one:

Annoys me greatly, as we have no idea what is being asked of the players behind closed doors. Blease, for example, may have been given instructions that he completely failed to implement. Just because we want someone in the side and they get dropped doesn't mean we need to lose trust in Neeld. The five players brought in to the side deserve it, as they were terrific on the weekend for Casey. They deserve to be rewarded with a spot in the side and an opportunity to impress.

Not sure why the Weagles would want to risk LeCras and Kerr against us to be honest.

We laid 3 tackles last week, 2 in the warm up. Not much of a risk.

Game 1: Blease as sub - comes on in the 4th quarter, has an impact.
Game 2: Blease plays a full game, doesn't do much.
Game 3: Dropped
And repeat.

I think we need him though. No Blease, Nicholson or Rodan - you won't see a slower side in the AFL this year.

What annoys me is that Watts is dropped to get some confidence... and yet is NOT playing for Casey this week.

I swear to god, if he doesn't come in as an emergency...

No point in dropping players like Blease for one poor game Shit Sylvia has had years of poor games, and why drop Watts and not play him at Casey bloody absurd

Come on Dees prove me wrong you do have a heart, and it does beat true !!

I'll tell you what annoys me greatly, Neelds lack of flexibility.

Player like Watts and Blease (players who were on the cusp of thriving under Bailey, even though Blease only played a few games - he looked at home off half back) are given a lot less leeway for poor performance then guys like Sellar, Gilles, Toumpas... even Trengove and Magner last year!

Neeld should stop trying to make statements (what about him subbing Jack off and giving him what would have almost been the worst experience of his AFL career?) and focus on making good decisions.

He contradicts himself.

Can only agree, how do you get form or confidence sitting on the couch watching foxtel, get of your arse and chase a ball !!

and have a bloody shave,!!! I've had a beard since I was 20, but it was not to prove anything to my mates about how virile I might or might not have been !!!

Go Dees

Gillies is gone. Sellar and Toumpas could certainly be seen as lucky as neither had a big impact on the game last week. Like it or not it's harder to drop a captain and Magner was given a role as a defensive forward, something he did well without getting too many stats.

Clearly Watts and Blease are two guys who are not doing enough of the team thing. We get annoyed when they get dropped as they are two guys we want to see succeed and we want them in the side. Watts is given the task of giving us something out of defence - he didn't do it. Blease is supposed to give us run and carry. He didn't get close to it. They obviously have roles and expectations that they aren't hitting.

And Jack Watts is a big boy. I'm sure he can handle being subbed out of the game, regardless of whether or not it's a good experience for him. It's what he is paid to do.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I think both need time to build their confidence.

But there's a trend with Neeld to give players he labels as 'competitors' ie. no skill a lot more of a run then other players who have to 'learn the hard way'.

A perfect example is James Strauss last year, played 7 or 8 games in a row - had one poor game against Adelaide and was dropped instantly.

Maybe he thinks he needs to be tougher on the players with talent, I'm not sure.

For the record having an entire crowd jeer at you would not be a tolerable experience, regardless of how big a boy you are.

Other than as a courtesy as good Demons fans what has neeld given us that dictates we should have faith in him outside of a mean string of clichés? Almost everything twitchy does makes little sense.

And I agree that he tends to favour the competitors more than the others, but I think he wants those players to learn to not just rely on their skills and that they need to work their arse off just as much as everyone else. Jordie McKenzie is a prime example - if Sylvia, Watts, Blease etc all worked as hard as he does then they would never be in danger of being dropped or copping it from the media.

And of course having the crowd jeer you wouldn't be a nice experience but it comes with the territory. If he applied himself and worked harder to get the best out of himself then he wouldn't get jeered.

I don't think we need to stoop to making fun of something Neeld can't help.

Blease is crook.

Baffled about Watts and Blease. This week is going to hurt.

I thought you just said Blease was crook.... ??

Sorry, being a spaz, Watts and Sellar. Would rather drop Sellar and make Watts play forward. Just get Sellar out! If he drops a mark this week I am going to crack it.

That's like saying if my 2 year old gets bored at half time I'm going to crack it.
