I thought it was the rainHutchings going down early in that infamous game vs Richmond in 2019 was a big reason they overran us after quarter time. I can't believe we're playing him.

Hickey was quite average for most of his career and is having an abnormally good season. The way he let Tim English dominate him in the ruck still annoys me and reckon we would have won if he was more competitive against the worst tap ruckmen in the comp.It still boggles the mind that we are debating Vardy and Williams and who is the lesser evil of the two, but we let Tom Hickey go to the swans for a second round pick who is dominating atm![]()

I'm a Bailey Williams fan, but he's so far off it at the moment it's not funny. The problem as I see it is that we have now beaten the lowley ranking, out of confidence Crows. Their kids are tired.
Against competative opponents we consistantly lack pace to attack and to apply pressure. When Nic is resting we fail in the middle.
We have, perhaps been forced to, replaced pace with slow and slower including a forward with no endurance, no crumbing ability and the pace of Priddes. Where we had a raw young ruckman that may heve given us a few HOTA we have gone back to an injured Allen who isnt a ruckman and robs us of a marking forward.
Dicey. How bad a the Saints, very bad I hope.
Just wait and see what happens if he has a bad one on Saturday though.Came on here for hutchings in melts but im severely dissapointed.
It’s not all about stats, it’s about when and where you get the stats. Sure Hutch had 0 touches in the first 3 quarters but he had 0 touches in the last quarter when the game was there to be won. He wasn’t floating around the back not getting cheap touches, he was not getting touches where it really mattered. Also went at 0%/100% accuracy, had no clangers, no frees against and the man he wasn’t playing on had no impact on the game.Nah Hutch definitely had a better game than Waterman. His 0 touches, 0 marks and 0 tackles, and his ability to influence the game despite not being at the ground, or even in the same State, can’t be understated. Especially compared with Waterman’s junk stats of 29 touches and 16 marks (which he got by drifting back for cheap stats and not because he was sent back to sure up the defence, don’t let what the coach said fool you) and his four goals which mean nothing when you consider all the goals he didn’t kick (it’s like listening to the notes a jazz player doesn’t play, you know).
Hutchings a clear BOG, if he doesn’t get the 5 Sandover votes then the medal is rigged.
Not a big fan but it might just be smart to give him a last game or two to show his wares. It might be the spark. At worst like Ah Chee he can be 'in case of emergency'.Happy for Hutch to have a run - he’s a honest player and deserves to run out for us again after a pretty rough couple of years.
Don’t think there’s been one guy minus Williams that has come in from the wafl team and given us a poor performance. Hutch will play a good strong mongrel role alongside west which will be needed against a fast ball moving team who come in waves.Hutchings going down early in that infamous game vs Richmond in 2019 was a big reason they overran us after quarter time. Mr Sanchez goesMaybe you should watch a third time? Hutch didn’t play, he travelled to Adelaide.
I hope I'm wrong and he blankets Steele, then I hope he plays the rest of the season.Don’t think there’s been one guy minus Williams that has come in from the wafl team and given us a poor performance. it’s only due to our low performing credit banker elites that haven’t been dropped is the reason for him not getting a run.
There’s an unnecessary negative connototation around his name and he needs to have some respect put on it.
Hutch has escaped that heat purely cause he's been essentially injured for 18 months. He'd genuinely be in the thick of it had he been playing this season. Bar 2018 he has been quite mediocre and thats even when he's been used as a tagger. He is as slow as sheed in and handles ball like Cripps (which as mid is even worse). Him and Westy are nothing a like as midfielders and his value to the side is as tagger (even then he's very limited).Don’t think there’s been one guy minus Williams that has come in from the wafl team and given us a poor performance. I’d argue if we wanted to trade him we’d be playing him. His current value is speculative upside project player. He was playing nice footy earlier in the year without starring, definitely get more value for a ‘ready to play role player with first round potential’ than a ‘can’t get a game but might one day become something’ asset. If I was more of a cynic I’d think that he’s lodged a trade request with the club.
Hard to see why else he isn’t getting a run with the injuries we’ve got.
Gaff on the inside this year has been sh*te but in the past he’s had periods where he’s run through there and have been effective. 2018 his he was frequently running through there and making an impact (2019 too). I guess it’s all to do with our midfield structure and the support he has. We defs need a decent midfield coach to utilise the talents of TK/Shuey/Yeo/Nic/gaff
You think this be pretty much Hutchings farewell game. They won't renew his contract at end of season and this surely will be his last opportunity. Not a huge fan of Hutch but maybe he can do the shutdown job required and help us over the line.
Tallish again? - Hope we keep going down the guts more and play a more attacking game starting from the back.
Ryan might start firing up or god help us even Darling? Maybe time for Lil' Langdon to do a Cripps and have a blinder?
Curious to see how West goes on his 2nd trot, might be cleaner..goes without saying we need the mids to stand tall this game.
I reckon he’s a very lucky boy. Hasn’t had consistent games this year . Many games no input . I think he needs a good run in WAFL learn to work even harder when haven’t got the ball . He is still learning but look at goals he’s kicked how many are handballs over the top to crumbing goals ?Yeah Petrucelle is concerning IMO
He's constantly having his game interrupted by niggles and other bullshit. Hard to maintain his upward form trend and development when it's constantly broken. It's worse off because it's multiple breaks, not just one large chunk of football. He's played zero WAFL footy this year.
Played round 1 - Gets dropped for round 2
Plays rounds 3 and 4 - Gets injured for round 5
Strings together 6 games between rounds 7-13 - Gets injured for round 13 vs the tigers
Coming back in round 15 after 2 weeks, he's lasted 4 games - Injured again
His year has gone exactly like this
Played -Omitted
Injured
