I meant as a stopper mate. When Hutch was the best tagger in the league he was still not good at stopping tall mids or quick players.
I dont disagree, he is the best/only we've got. No stopper role, no gig.

Weirdly I feel like we play better when one of Shuey, Yeo or Kelly dont play.
I think its because, when Shuey and Yeo are both on the park, Kelly and Redden get a bit lost in what they should be doing and drift in and out of the game. They're all great mids on their day, but I dont think they've gelled well as a group.
I'm leaning towards JK coming back next year on the expectation he'll play ~10games max or so. It's time to play Brander forward.
There's no point pissing away an opportunity to see exactly what Brander can offer in order to play JK when JK is going to be done at the end of next year regardless.

Succession planning occurs in football clubs. Starting point though is playing Brander as a FF in the WAFL.Footy clubs don't work like that. You always play the best player in the rightful position. If JK plays on next year he will be playing on to play as our FF for the season. The club may give him 1-2 games off during the year but thats about it outside of injury.
If Brander wants the FF spot or a Key position forward spot then he needs to tear the door down in the WAFL, kick bags of goals weekly and completely dominate the WAFL league. No way in hell JK or any player is going to step aside to give someone else their spot.

Not saying giving games without merit, but if he's doing well, then we play Oscar Allen / Darling as primary key forwards and Brander as the third. He's not a direct replacement for JK's role.
I wouldn't be surprised if Brander wants to go. We've completely cocked up his development in conjunction with him not really having the aggressive edge/confidence required at the level.
I think he would be well justified in feeling frustrated with how his career is tracking at this point in time.
Like Waterman. Or that Subi guy.If Brander wants the FF spot or a Key position forward spot then he needs to tear the door down in the WAFL, kick bags of goals weekly and completely dominate the WAFL league.

Hutchings against the team who didn’t want him
Hutch playing against the ‘team that didn’t want him’.
Gee, strongly disagree that Petch is 'very lucky' in regards to selection this year. He's markedly improved his game and has contributed most weeks. I'd argue more consistently than most players this year. He's kicked plenty of non Joe the Goose goals this year.I reckon he’s a very lucky boy. Hasn’t had consistent games this year . Many games no input . I think he needs a good run in WAFL learn to work even harder when haven’t got the ball . He is still learning but look at goals he’s kicked how many are handballs over the top to crumbing goals ?
If we are going on a rebuild then JK will not play on. If the club thinks they have one more shot at a flag then JK will play on.
What JK does next year will tell you where the club is at in my opinion.
Kennedy is the measure of a rebuild, seriously ??
I think we have to accept Shuey is finished regardless of what Kennedy or Hurn do. Even if all three are unavailable, does that require a rebuild ? Not for me, a rejig sure.
No current season stats available

Off the bone at both endsSorry to intrude guys, but does anyone know how serious Luke Edwards hammy is? Cheers
CHAOS BALL!!!!
Nah going to the Wafl to boo himGood to see we have our saviour and 2018 finals MVP Mark Hutchings back in the team this week.
I’m sure Nelson will appreciate the week off of being the sides whipping boy too.![]()
