Just watched Sheeds press conference, he to me pretty much said Jetta was going to play next week. Saying we needed to inject more pace and that he wanted to look at 1 or 2 kids. Riemers might be another that gets a game next week. I dont see any players that have a whole lot of pace at Bendigo unless hes going to somehow get Charlie Maher on the list and play him.

Houli possibly, we need more run and he was not too bad for Bendigo yesterday.

Riemers I felt played abit selfishly yesterday, wasnt as good as houli.

Other than his 2 snaps from the boundary he was fairly good. Looks composed and has very clean skills something i think Sheedy wants to bring into the seniors. Houli worries me, too often he slows the play by looking for a handball option which i cannot understand when hes a pretty good kick of the footy.

Other than shutting down the player who was on fire in the first quarter ......

He spent plenty of time on Aker, so if you're suggesting he shut down Aker, you werent watching the same game. Aker has just endured his best fortnight.

yes he is bossco

the sheedy press conference was very interesting.
i quote, "we need to bring in pace and good kicking skills. we will look to take risks at the selection table."

to me he is referring to jetta here. it would seem a bit of risk to bring him in but as sheeds said this week is a grand final for us.

i am a hocking fan, don't have a go at me ant, but i can't see him coming in this week even if he is allowed to be elevated. he isn't quick enough to make the side right now. although he will be above jj and pev in the pecking order in a year or two

sheeds kept mentioning pace and skills so kepler won't be in the side this week

he also said that he thought rama and dyson did well so they won't be getting dropped

sheeds also said that he wanted to bring in a couple of kids over the next month just as we did last year, so i doubt slop will dropped after just two games. especially after he was one of few who gave 100%, tackled well and his smothers were great

so after watching the game and the press conference i reckon the changes will be:

out: campo, jj, ryder/nlm
in: mcveigh, fletch, jetta

it may be a matchup thing that decides who gets dropped. i can't think of a matchup for either of those two. mj would be perfect for medhurst

and then one of stanton and winders will play. it is unlikely that they will both be 100% and we can't go into the game with 2 underdone guys

rocca mal
cloke fletch
thomas slats
didak mcveigh
medhurst mj
davis nash

no matchup for ryder or nlm. we can't play them both

Isn't Jetta still banished to the Bendigo magoos or was that just one week?

Rama adds nothing at the moment - we are effectively a man down due to his conditioning. More time at Bendigo is needed for him.

Campo obvious out - Fletch an McVeigh in.

After the first quarter how much influence on the game did Aker have ?
Dyson went on him at the start of the second quarter and kept him to 15 possessions for the rest of the game after Aker had 9 in the first quarter, kicked a gaol and set up two others. In theperiod Dyson was playing on Aker he had 17 possessions himself.
It wasnt until well into the last quarter that Aker got away with setting up a few goals again. If you read the review in the paper you will notice how they described Akers great first quarter in length before adding that in the end he was content to play a support role to Cooney and Boyd.
I have to say you wernt watching the same game . I have been sitting in the front row on level three watching Dyson very closely in the last two weeks. I have seen exactly what he has been doing.

I cant argue with someone questioning his pace . It is one area that i still have a question mark on as far as him making the grade goes. He isnt a plodder and he has more pace than Watson but he isnt an explosive player either . He is more in the hard working with reasonable speed catergory. I have always called him a JJ type with an ugrade in skill.
I agree that if you where looking to add genuine pace to the side you wouldnt be looking at Heath first.

Jetta is interesting. He has served his punishment and to be honest he hasnt moved at all well at training or on the field recently. Those who i spoke to about his games in the Bendigo seconds said he just looked injured because he wasnt stretching out or reall using his pace at all.
The story i heard was we where going to nurse him through the rest of the season fits in well with what they described.
Now in saying all of the above i have to make two comments. They say his final quarter was very good last week and he showed a couple of glimpes of the old Jetta. Secondly he did seem to have a bit more of a spring in his work at training today. The general comment was he seemed to be moving better than he had been for 4 or 5 weeks.

Maybe it's partially an attitude thing and he's finally been told he might be having another crack at the big time?

The best thing is:

In: Fletcher McVeigh Hocking Houli

Out: JJ Stanton(if injured) Campo(injured) Slattery(its even better if peverill gets dropped but i cant see that happenin)

Mal Rocca
Fletch Cloke
McVeigh Didak
NLM Thomas
Ryder Maxwell
MJ Davis

campo won't be out long enough to promote hocking. you can forget that inclusion.
sheedy said in his press conference that he thought slats did a good job on johnson. he won't be getting dropped

nlm doesn't have the discipline to be assigned to thomas. whiilst maxwell rarely plays forward. he is only used to pinch hit. kind of like a try hard adam hunter

houli was really good two weeks ago, and was handy on the weekend

there are differing reports on stanton. some say he may miss a few weeks, whilst the general feeling is that he will be played over the next month even though it is evident that he isn't 100%

All of you guys are dreaming, pace is not the only thing that we need this week to beat Collingwood, a hell of luck will help, it may be good to have pace but you need to hit targets, and that is targets wearing red & black jumpers.

Last weeks game against the doggies show that we are at best only a average side and when we don't play at 100% we will always get smashed, this weeks changes of winning, well lets say, if Collingwood rock up at half time we may have a change.
