Changing the topic - how did you manage this??

What really amazes me - is that this topic was started in relation to the Lions (Adam Heuskes) - has somehow diveluged into a debate about what players each club has let go, etc. While I am not rubbishing the person who did this; it ulimately proves how melbourne supporters can suddenly change the topic in relation to their club, etc.
I guess it was like on the footy show last week: The panel was talking about the Geelong vs (i don't know who) game and Eddie turned it into a discussion on Colonial and the problems which it is encountering. Sam made a very appropiate comment to Eddie; if we were talking about Collingwood - you wouldn't of changed the subject.

Thats just the nature of debate. All you need is one person to pick out a certain line, in your case what a great pick up Heuskes was (and is) and others can take of from there.

Yeah don't get too annoyed Lionsrock - its just the way it goes. If you have a BB service which is fast, easy to use and is updated in real time like this one then it quickly starts to behave like a real conversation, that is the subject changes - constantly.

There's only a certain number of things you can say about Heuskas - Perhaps a discussion on cross dressing would be in order

Is Alexander Downer a Heuskas fan ?

I guess I'm the one "not being rubbished".

How did I manage it? Well, I'll be modest: It was actually exceedingly easy. I took one boring, original post that had reached its zenith after a single response and, presto chango, with one moderately interesting question turned it into a thread that people might actually be interested in responding to!

And here comes the really revelatory part: I didn't need to be a Victorian with a secret agenda to take away the focus from the interstate clubs to do it! If anyone wanted to talk about Heuskes, they could easily respond to your first message, if they so desired. Obviously, they don't.

But, just to make up for acting like a bit of a dickhead(I'm in a silly mood), let's switch back to Heuskes:

Adam Heuskes is one of my favourite non-Crows footballers because he seems like a fun, easy-going character who would contribute to the team spirit of any club. I thought his dance to the Shania Twain song "That don't impress me much", which was capture on video and screened on Talking Footy, was hilarious..

Hey, that gives me an idea for a thread! Are there too many footy shows on TV?
(sorry)
