Has anyone ever done it? I don't mean in school, I mean once you're out in the world and it's all over everything you own (credit cards, lease, driver's licence, etc.)

I've had the same signature since I was a lad and have been thinking about changing it slightly. Mainly because the one I currently use is an illegible scrawl that would not actually be that hard to fake. I'm thinking about phasing in version 2.0 in over the next few years as I renew all my cards and stuff.

Does it cause any hassles that I'm overlooking?

Yes, I've done it.

I was working on a degree while I was in the Army. Took a couple of criminology classes in there. One of the things that interested me was handwriting analysis so I bought a couple of books on the subject.

I don't know how much of it is bullshit, but I did learn that a lot of companies do handwriting analysis to measure up job applicants. I don't know how many companies do this, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to doctor up my own handwriting.

I took all the good bits and pieces the books talked about and incorporated them into my own handwriting while simultaneously eliminating the bad indicators. Then I fixed up my signature.

My signature today is a work of art, I'm telling you. I actually get compliments on it from time to time.. If a handwriting expert working for a company analyzed my writing and signature he would quite mistakenly report that I'm intelligent, consistent, a self-starter, reliable, honest, I finish what I start, I have executive ability but also originality and an artistic flair. Ha.

Don't know if my handwriting has ever been analyzed, but I can say that I've never been turned down for a job. Who knows? It's something to look into, Caesar, even if it makes no difference at all.

Peace,

My signature has evolved over the years.

There is a distinct difference between my passport, license and my credit cards and nothing like the signature that my bank has on file from when I opened my account as a 16 yo.

I have NEVER been queried on these variations.

Think about it; When was the last time that anyone scrutinised your signature as means of identifying you?

It just doesn't happen anymore.

Just start signing your name differently on future documents and you're away.

I wish someone gave out signatures or something or even lessons. I just never really thought of making a signature until it was too late.

Be good to see what sort of things you put into use Mooster, I wouldn't mind having a look at what an "intelligent, consistent, self-starter, reliable, honest, finish what you start, executive ability but also originality and an artistic flair" signature is like.

I really never thought of making a signature until I was about 15-16 when I got my first card, back then it was ****en terrible.

I don't mind mine now, it's evolved quite a lot and I've tried various different one's including smaller (basically initial signature) and full name signatures and have finally landed on one that I've used over the last couple of years. It's not bad, but I don't love it at the same time.

I reckon if you change it and get it changed throughout everything then there's no reason you can't change it up.

Rarely, if ever does anyone check it on a credit card though, so there's no real issue there, if someone does...LEG IT!!!

My signature was/is so shit because the space to write on your license was so fricking small!

When I first "got my" signature is was kind of a graffiti type tag and was pretty ghey. Now it's pretty swiffy if I must say. Can't read the bastard but that's not the point.

I think a signature is better if your name has lots of high and low finishings on the letters. What I mean is say a name, Geoffrey. It has two "f's" and a "y" so you get signature that has a bit more substance. A name like Sam Ham isn't really much to work with... (ignore what I just wrote if it made no sense.)

My signature has been a work of art since I was 15.

Thats what happens when you have dreams of dominating the AFL, you practice your signature very often
