Can't remember the last game that went down to the last 5 minutes that was ruined for me because I knew how much time there was left...

Love it. Adds suspense to the game, especially if it is a close one.

I reckon all the quarters should be count-up timers. Way better.

I hate it. The beauty of watching a close game on TV is knowing how much time is left. The West Coast vs Collingwood semi final would not have been as exciting if all you knew was that the quarter had gone for 29 minutes instead of there only being 1 minute to go and all the Pies had to do was to score a point.
Knowing that there was bugger all time left made every thing seem more critical.

No chance. It would be MUCH more exciting without knowing how long was left.

Same with Geelong v Collingwood. You could tell that Geelong had it in the bag when that last ball up occured.

On the other hand, had there been no countdown clock, I would have been biting my nails, nervous out of my brain!

Why - Everyone at the game knew there was no time left.

The time remaining circulates between everyone anyway.

The week before's game was much more exciting because of the clock, and so was that one.

Not having the clock can mean you give up on a game without realising there is still time left, yet when you kick a goal and there is still a minute left, it raises the excitement, because it means that it could still be won.

With you all the way buddy. I have no idea how people find knowing how much time is left more exciting

Surely, watching your team battle away, 5 points down... you turn to the clock, but the only solace it offers is that 28 minutes have passed. How long to go? Nobody knows. All you know is that your team needs to score that goal as quick as they can, because that siren could go, at any moment.

If you know how long is left, it's like "Oh, okay, we have 1 1/2 minutes to score a goal. That should be enough. Excellent" as opposed to "Oh ****... we need that goal... just hurry up".

The 5 minute clock is a brilliant idea. Adds so much to the excitement.

Love it in close games it keeps up the suspence, channel 7 ruins the close games more by doing it the way they do it

The clock should count up (my preference) or down, but shouldn't do both. Show some balls and make a decision Channel 10. ****wits.

I love it in close games, except it's shit for my heart.mI'm gonna have a bad heart when I'm older... Especially from those games earlier in the season for Essendon.
