I would've preferred any of the others we dumped over Kingers but I'm prepared to accept him as long as he is only there as backup to Poults, Wilbur, Wangas, Monty and Hardwick

There's nothing on portadelaidefc.com.au, but then again, that's no bloody surprise!

Poults being the operative word in that sentence.

As I've said all along, the problem hasn't been Kingas, it's been where he's been played. Any player will have at least one position he is not at his best in. Keep Kingas away from deep defence, preferably on the wing and he may even be a passable replacement for Nick Stevens.

Anyone interested in Steve Lawrence? Admittedly Choco isn't a big rap for guys who get totalled and then get totalled but according to the Hun today his near death experience has given him a new outlook on football/life in general.

He was pretty good before he did his knee in 1995. Rated up with the Voss's and Hirds I think.

Things like that (what he went through this year) make you look at life from a completely different perspective. I've lost a few mates recently and it really has opened my eyes, so for him it's got to be a massive wake-up call.

I daresay that'd make him a lot more level headed and a lot more committed to his football.

According to Channel 10, losing 4kg makes a certain someone 'meaner'. Hell, I lost 20kg, does that make me the Devil Incarnate?

This would involve Mark WIlliams to think and to maybe possibly change his stock standard player positions. Chances of this happening are slim to non existant.

Id expect Kinger will play as many quarters in the midfield this year as he has the past 3 years. About 2 quarters on average per year.

Lawrence has never been rated in the top echelon of players. 95 was his debut season and he averaged 11 touches in his 13 games.

Hes never been anything more than a determined struggler with average foot skills and average pace.

I've been watching videos of 2002 games and Kingas was showing that he can provide a good run off half-back. Just so long as he doesn't play in the back pocket.

The Crows or Collingwood game from that year were probably the best examples of that.
The Crows one for the run from half-back, and the Collingwood game for Malthouse taking full advantage of his deficiencies when last man back.
