Voss said he still thinks we wont make the 8. Unsure when you heard the comments you stated. Ill wait to see how we perform over the next few weeks, and more importantly early in the proper season before I can make a fairly safe assumption as to how our season will pan out.

Anthony Hudson asked Voss if he still believes Brisbane will make the 8 1/2 way through the 1st quarter! How can you ask a question like that not even 1/4 time during a pre season game?

Unlike Voss, Huddo's got a clue - made comments about our improvement last year, how we were hoping some of these guys like Houli, Dempsey, Reimers could also add a bit to our side. On the money IMHO, despite being a Lues supporter
I'd be worried about Brisbane. If they lose Charman or Merrett, they'll finish close to bottom
I'd put "I can do it, no I can't" Voss into the same basket as Greg "Save Essendon" Denham.
It's good to see you essendon supporters are being realistic here (unlike most Carlton supporters). The top 8 isn't an impossible goal but still there is alot that has to happen between now and september!

Nahh...before the start of the game Voss made a statement that Brisbane will definately make the finals this year. When we were leading by 30 odd points and Brisbane was playing really bad footy, Anthony Hudson was asking Vossy whether he still thinks Brisbane will make the finals...that's all. (Huddo was just stirring him up).
Lets not get carried away, we've beaten brisbane in the first round of the NAB cup. These journo's were tipping us for doom and gloom last week.

Sure, it was a fantastic result last night, our young players stepped up but lets be realistic it was our first game for the year against another opposition.
But i will say that the signs were good and Knighter handled himself quite well in the box.
I'm looking forward to seeing how we fare against the Doggies who use much the same style of gameplay that we used last night.

How anyone could believe what these knobs predict to be good advice is amazing. All you had to do is listen to the commenatary. They didnt even know half the players names and spent half the game talking crap and laughing out the back. Voss is kidding himself if he thinks he could coach AFL.
With respect mate, anyone with even the vaguest clue about football could have made those sort of inane comments about where we're at. And the fact that we need those sort of players to take the next step to help us improve. It's not exactly rocket science.
(And I have no idea what your "Lues supporter" comment means, btw. If you're trying to say that Hudson is a Blues supporter (?), he's not. He barracks for Geelong.)

Steve Quartermain is a Hawthorn supporter. Has always hated Essendon and always will. Let's hope we can get back to owning the Hawks again, so we can wipe that smug grin off his face!!!
