Is anyone else frustrated at the amount of advertising during the footy ? Aparth from the Taxi driver who has got a 'pickage' and thinks it's great for 'singuls' and 'car-pulls' I noticed one thing on friday night

In the first quarter Hawks score a goal. We get an advert for channel seven promoting "exotic places - the thunder dragon" on sunday.

Back to the footy - 12:01 minutes to go on the clock. Bounce Salmon and Gardiner both touch but Woods gets it and pumps it forward to the 50 where Holland taps it down to dickspon - who kicks it forward through a few WC players. Croad picks it up an snaps - GOAL then it's off to more adverts for mothers day on channel 7. frustrating seconds later and we are bck at the centre bounce with 11:39 seconds to go.

The hawks have scored in just 22 seconds but we've also had a 20 second Channel7 advert. Its too much !

What pisses me off is the camera angle they use when a player is lining up for goal.

If a player is directly in front then fine, use the behind the goal angle. However, when a player is on an angle they should use the normal wing position. It is harder to judge when watching from behind.

Yesterday while watching the Bulldogs-Sydney game it became ridiculous when Chris Grant had a set shot right in line with the wing position camera. Channel 7 though decided they would show the behind the goals angle. Why would you do that? It would have been perfect from the wing. Instead you're left wondering until the ball actually passes through the goals. Then you're still not sure because the camera seems too far away.

Here Here Jaffa, its about time someone bought up those stupid camera angles.

If we wanted to see the game behind the goals, we would go to it and sit there.

At least though those shots aren't as bad as the ones when they televise the finals from the Goodyear Blimp, Has anyone ever seen the centre bounce from straight above it? If we were desperate for that, we would hire out a plane or a helicopter.

Get it right channel 7 , or you may lose the rights to 9, who will treat AFL the same way they treat Rugby League in Melbourne, with contempt.

Dont fret guys, if we stick it out a few more years then Rupert will have the rights and we can watch all the games 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

And Blightys 4th umpire will be there too.

How about the ANZAC day game? Normally there would be one ad break every two goals, but during this game, there was a commercial break every single time a damn goal was kicked. And it was stupid commercials as well and mainly self-promotional ads. Ch 7 were just capitalising on the huge ratings they would get for this game, but gee wiz...

Personally, I would love to see the football rights go to Channel 9 just so we have a chance to see how well another station can broadcast footy. I don't think it could be a lot worse than Ch 7.

Ch 9's cricket coverage is unrivalled (I'm talking about camera work and directing), as anyone who's seen other broadcasts knows. One would hope that same excellence would apply to football if they won the rights. And of course, the commentary cannot possible be worse than what Ch 7 have to offer (I believe football on TV needs one commentator, at most; we can see what's happening for ourselves, god damn it). With football being so popular, they might even screen more games than 7, although I wouldn't count on it because of their reluctance to show any cricket outside of the Australian season. Still, I would rather see fewer but better-covered footy matches.
